Nope. Anything annexed into Baton Rouge after the 2019 vote will be nullified in accordance with state law. St. George get that territory back. Anything annexed before the vote stays in BR.

I understand that. You’re assuming BR let’s that happen without a lawsuit.

Even assuming you're correct, the city can still form without any disputed areas.

Yeah they could. I would assume they’d want that finalized first, but maybe not since this has taken so long already.

What about working at a Woodlawn school and finally getting a raise after 13 years from EBR. Will the new St.George honor that raise?

I read the controlling opinion only and didn’t see a damn thing about $250,000,000. You know why? Because the total amount the parish owed STG is unknown at the moment but you better believe all those sales taxes are going to have to be turned over in 75 days. So whatever the sales tax total is owed regardless.

The legacy costs are somewhere around $5-$6 million according to the opinion which cited an ordinance. So worst case scenario is $225,000,00 owed to STG.

Brett Furr can eat a dick. He shall forever be known as the attorney who wanted to disenfranchise 90,000 people. He doesn’t give a frick about the working man in STG while he collects his million dollars from his law firm. When you see him around STG, tell him to get the frick out of our city. He’s not welcome here.

Why would St. George need to honor it? It’s still getting paid by EBRPSS.

Who knows. I just hope my property value increases while the taxes increase.

You’re so stupid Mr. Furr. We don’t care about creating government if we are creating a smaller, leaner, more efficient government. How about you revisit this thread 5 years from now when STG is bustling and the school system is top 5 in the state.

Baton Rouge proper is fricked and their property taxes will have to go up to pay for Broome’s studies.

There isn’t one yet. The “your kid is going to get kicked out of the magnet school as soon as this passes” was just a scare tactic by Together Baton Rouge.

I thought schools were half the reason SG wanted to incorporate? Soon they’ll be fighting to stay in BR schools. Yeesh.

Your assuming there's an attorney out there willing to risk sanctions from the court, and possible disciplinary action, for seeking to fight/dispute an issue for which the law.is crystal clear. I guess maybe MOP would do it.

The people of “North Baton Rouge” cannot be blamed for anything. They are blameless.

This we already know.

Your trolling attempts are getting weaker with each post. Maybe you should take some timeout to regroup

Just as effective as a 7-0 unanimous decision.

And according to WAFB, a 54-46% win in an election is "extremely close"
