I am not sure of the DC case but from what I read on the Miami case I don't see how he avoids a conviction on at least some of the charges.

I agree......Jack is accustomed to losing 9-0 in front of that court. Why risk looking like a bigger idiot than he does now?

That's what Desantis/Haley/Christie want.

You are deranged.

Its what Democrats want which is why they are doing this.

They get all of you weirdos to allow them to pick the candidate for you, and then destroy him repeatedly until its too late.

I've said it since the beginning and we are seeing it unfold.

They will go to trial in March, it will last two-ish months, and he will be convicted (wrongly, IMO).

His next trial will go in August-ish, just around the Convention, and he will be convicted again (again, wrongly).

This decision is going to come down to a determination of whether Trump’s alleged actions that are subject to the indictment were performed as a function of the duties of his office.

Giving a speech to the American people certainly meets that standard.

Taking money from a foreign entity certainly does not.

Because Jack is a thug with a badge. A political hit man.

Dude, it's quite literally the current strategy...to end up in a brokered convention situation.

Political speech does not meet the requirement.

However, there are multiple laws concerning bribery. Especially involving foreign policy.

None of the RNC’s bylaws or procedures actually matter. Your concern there is misplaced. The RNC can do whatever it wants, even at a brokered convention.

Shouldn’t everyone want that answered as soon as possible?
Shouldn’t everyone want this to run a normal appeals course in the courts?

No. It’s not a normal case and its effects impact an election cycle that’s on the precipice of starting.

Letting the DC circuit rule is a pointless exercise. Nothing they rule will matter because it will be appealed and end up in front of SCOTUS anyway.

What is the benefit of that?

Here is what is going to happen if the SCOTUS doesn’t take this.

Jack will take it through all the lower courts. If he gets a favorable ruling, Trump will appeal to the SCOTUS. By that time, we will be well into next year. Trump will be screaming at the top of his Truth Social lungs for the SCOTUS to overturn before November.

If Jack gets a non-favorable ruling, Trump will be screaming to slow play this past November.

Is Trump willing to take that chance?
Does the SCOTUS want to get ahead of this now or risk being political later?

Of the Democrats. As I've been saying for 6 months and its coming to fruition almost exactly as I said.

Not of Ron Desantis, who would drop out after Super Tuesday and pledge support to Trump if he is not leading or looking like he can win the Primary.

Christie won't even be in the race in a month.

I know you want desperately to blame the massive L in November 2024 on anyone but yourself though.

I guess you should probably just read the indictment if you want to know what the charges are.

Jack Smith does not have a case. Now he wants to get in front of SCOTUS regarding their thoughts on Presidential Prosecutions.

SCOTUS will not hear it and might let him know he has no standing.

I definitely don't.

I believe the civil war going on will be the reason. I'm not going to blame people like you though. You are entitled to your vote and cannot be wrong anymore than a vote for Trump is wrong.

I do think, and I believe it's obvious, that there are efforts to make sure the battle within the part continues and those efforts include Desantis taking his waaaaay past where it's viable. We see it every day.

But, you can write this down. I'm not asking you to vote for Trump. And, if you don't, I won't "blame" you for voting in a manner that you think is correct.

I don't know.... It seemed pretty black and white to me. I was for Trump until the hearings. After everything that came out, I think he's guilty. And I vote Rep. always.
