Again, bad comparison. Native American definition of property was pretty much anywhere they had been was their land. That’s not how ownership works. Ownership is what the white farmers in South Africa have. They’ve built their farms and worked their fields every day. And it’s being forcibly taken from them

For about the thousandth time in this thread, a very large chunk of that land was not theirs to begin with. Re-read some of the posts on here about Dutch, Bantu, English, Xhosa, refugee, and so forth migration within the continent. Much of the land was straight up empty (or very nearly so) or was legitimately traded for by European settlers. The Boers didn't have the numbers or power to straight up dominate local natives for the vast majority of the history of the country. It's something that Mandela, rightfully, eventually came to conclude was a bad idea for all sorts of reasons, not only including technical expertise but that a lot of white people in South Africa have as good or better historical claim to their land.
What has actually happened is that South Africa has taken a pretty bad turn for the worse in the last ten years, and the powers-that-be in the ANC, long-steeped in socialist and communist ideology, have turned festering anger of the masses against property owners. Tale as old as time.

Disturbingly sad for those people who will be affected. South African wine will soon be something of a rarity.
This is also part of the New Cold War going on. Chalk this one up to Russia who has made inroads in South Africa and are utilizing the racial division to push the Soviet style political power play back into style. The Russians are half-way through the anti-Western political push.

The Khoisan peoples, if I remember rightly, would have historical claim, if the descendants of the Zulu tribes are arguing being there first gives them a right to the land.
Well this is only a resolution that has passed in the lower house and the resolution still has to pass the upper house. An article I linked earlier shows that lots of land is actually already in government control, and they are hesitant to sell it, preferring to rent it out to tenants. According to one study, 45% of the land with high agricultural potential is already in the hands of historically disadvantaged people. I'm hopeful that the ANC will see the writing on the wall with regards to what land expropriation without compensation will do to foreign investment, as they are more and more reliant on the CCP.

The unintended consequence of this vote is that its going to elevate the number attacks over the next few months on these farmers who can't get out of the country in time. The local political militias are going to take full advantage of this vote to steal as much land as possible.

South African banks are exposed to losses exceeding $13.5 billion US dollars under this SA policy of expropriation without compensation.
Once these farmers have their land taken from them then the loans or bonds they have with their bank will be effectively meaningless for them because they won't have any land to foreclose on because the government will own the land so the banks will be unable to recoup their money.
1/3 of all bank investment in SA is collateralized through land. The loss of over 13 billion will have a massive impact on the economy as banks throughout SA will collapse.
In the short term you will see banks refusing to extend any sort of collateral loan or bond to any farm given the uncertainty because they fear what will happen if their security interests aren't protected and SA doesn't have the money to bail out the banks.

I thought that was a reference to the burnings between 1984-87? The reconciliation report made no mention of that, and of the 18 murders she was accused of, all relating to the soccer team Mandela United, most of the victims, going by their names, were black, save for the notable exception of Paul Verryn. From my recollection, all the assaults took place between 87-89, before Nelson Mandela was released from prison. He divorced Winnie shortly afterward. The reconciliation interview took place in 1996 or 1997, after the divorce, and from the records, Nelson's name does not come up in relation to the killing, though Winnie had every incentive to implicate him.
