The complete story of the Alamo and the Texas Revolution also discusses all the “ brown people” who fought on the Texican side, including Capt Juan Seguin. In fact, the Texican side had more diversity than the Mexican side.

Well getting back to the Alamo... I had a distant ancestor (sort of) that died there...
Andrew Nelson. He was a Tennessee Volunteer. The Alamo has him listed as single, but my Great Grandfathers record has him married. I have contacted the Alamo about him to correct the issue., They wanted a picture and I sure didn't have any... His Mother was given a huge chunk of Land in Texas for his defense of it... Regardless The Alamo said that they would research it but they still have him listed as single.
Andrew Nelson (Alamo Defender)
Anyways... From my Great Grandfathers recorded record:
Andrew Nelson was married to Levina Soloman on June 14m 1827. (This would make Andrew 18 years old at this time). Andrew Nelson died at the Battle of the Alamo, fighting for the liberty of Texas in 1836. He left his widow Levina Soloman Nelson. She had twelve brothers and sisters. One of these twelve children was my grandmother, Elizabeth Soloman, born July 19, 1817 and died in 1849.
There's way more but I am tired of typing tonight...

So....recently I learned why "Remember the Alamo" is so important
I mean it's mostly a lie. A bunch of Americans illegally occupied mexico, wouldn't pay taxes, and wouldn't give up slavery. So Mexico attacked.
But it's ok to tell the story about bad brown people to kids in school, because who cares if the brown kids are offended, but dare tell them about slavery and oh no white people offended CRT!!!
What shithole did you grow up in? I grew up here and I learned about slavery by the time I was in 6th grade.

Hey butthole! Brown people are Texans! The Alamo was brown and white folks fighting against other brown and white (Spaniard) folks. Don't get caught up in Yankee lies.

Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexico winning its only battle against a foreign country. Mexico did have the leadership assistance of that noted American general Ignatio Zaragoza who was born and buried in Goliad texas.

Thanks for the recommendation.
Good movie. Intetesting casting choices, but they all did well. Shame it bombed.
Captured the essence of the history of the event

You do know that Mexicans fought with the Texicans ? They hated Santa Ana.

Great post. The pieces of shite that down voted it should be tarred and feathered, then drug by horse through a patch of prickly pear.

Clearly, “Mexicans” fought on the Texian side of the war, but who specifically are you referencing?

One would think that a democrat would be the one who wouldn't want teaching on Slavery, KKK, Jim Crowe, Segregation, etc. etc. Since it is the history of that party.

Sounds like those soldiers who died in the Alamo were almost as brave as the current crop of Dems trying to save our democracy!

According to the history books, those men stole the lands of the Mexican and Santa Anna had the right to take it back. The white guys at the Alamo used their white privelged to deny them the immigrants rights.
