The goal has always been ending Western civilization.

When that was facilitated by promoting free speech, free speech was promoted.

Now that free speech does not facilitate the end of Western civilization, it must be ended.

if jones had voted for obama, you wouldn't give two shits he was banned for making money off other people's grief ... but since he voted for trump, you claim he's a conservative pundit being silenced by msm ...
That goes two ways of course. You'd be livid if a prominent Obama supporter was silenced because of his political views.

So do I. Unfortunately that's not the issue here.

Well, I guess it's the issue if you're a small minded fool.

Because it certainly feels that way.

Not yet. But I can easily see the path there being tested.

What has the government done to silence speech?

Free speech is protection from the government, not from other citizens and entities.

These private entities banning people and companies is just a form of the free market at work. We will see how it shakes out. They will either get whiplash and open back up or a competitor will arise to check them in the market. This is assuming the internet remains a free and open market.

The government exists to defend its citizens from threats of that which they cannot defend themselves. Citizens and the free market can push back against companies that operate on the internet. They cannot push back against the companies that actually operate the internet.

This is the reason I do not support any government interference in the market of companies in the internet, ie app stores and website hosters, but I absolutely support the government forcing ISPs to remain open to everyone regardless of content.

If the answer is government regulation of FB, YT, and Twitter, then I'm good with my views.
