The Environment is important.
The problem is they don't understand nature, so they don't actually love nature, and therefore don't know what's best for it.

It's almost as if when you create these welfare programs, you subsidize what employers have to offer with their wages.

The oceans are far more important than the global warming thing. Which is why I welcome all this plastic straw nonsense. Anything that starts to move the conversation in the right direction.

Conservatives on welfare reform and not codifying transgender stuff into law without further science.

I agree, but that is an almost impossible task at this point. The leftists saturate the teachers, the professors, the people who set the rules, the people who set and choose the textbook to study and the ones who write those textbooks.

Thank you for this thread.

Living in a liberal environment I talk with a lot of leftists. This is one "go to" question that I use in conversation.

Nearly every time the other person is dumbfounded and has no answer. I then give them crap about drinking the kool aid wayyy too much.

I truly think (not feel) that folks on the right have more cross over ideas than folks on the left.

I disagree. Gay marriage policies...all bc God said marriage should be btwn a man and a woman...sanctity, blah blah.

Why isn't prostitution legalized? Why can't people use THC products that have no worse effects than alcohol? No reason other than adultery jargon and fear.

There is no reason for these things to be illegal or without state sanction except for religion.

Abortion too.

There are societies that exist with these things being legal.

Government has and will never be good parents for children. You want better educated children you need more involved parents. Go to a high school open house and see how many parents show up to the ap class as opposed to the regular class. Preschool children don’t need more class time, they need parents.

I'm more of a free market libertarian than most, but I've got a serious problem with major corporations like Walmart and Amazon whose entire business model relies on hiring part time employees and paying wages that are artificially suppressed due to available government subsidies. If they could get away with hiring their workers as independent contractors, they'd probably do that just to save a few more pennies.

At this point, if we are going to implement a realistic federal minimum wage, it needs to be indexed to inflation, and we should tighten up the part-time loophole for benefits, etc.

Decriminalization of weed. I can't comprehend why the party of smaller government has such a hard-on for continuation of the failed War on Drugs. Legalize it all, tax it appropriately, and move on to real problems.

The problem is that their official plank supports abortion all the way into the birth canal. Ideologically, it is consistent, but it is a political loser.

I'm not clear on what your claim is. Are you claiming that a person cannot have a valid opposition to gay marriage other than religion? If so, does that mean that zero atheists are against gay marriage??

If we legalize it all, drug dealing becomes a relic of history. Like southern bootleggers of yesteryear. I'm okay with that. Take out the criminal element, and let individual citizens make informed decisions about what they want to put into their own bodies.
