My understanding is that fertilizer is up big time. Farmers are planting more soybeans and less corn because they put nitrogen back into the soil and need less fertilizer.

Fertilizer is up because companies manufacturing it get their nitrogen from natural gas (I'm not a chemist but a quick search of the Googlez indicates much of what's in the atmosphere is N2 and what plants really want is Brawndo... I mean... nitrates, or N3O- and I guess it's easier to get that from N than it is N2?)

Why is this an issue? Because natural gas has been spiking under Biden after reaching what may have been an all-time low in July 2020. In under two years the price has gone from 1.72 in July 2020 to 6.69 today. We haven't seen natural gas that high since it was coming down from the highs of the mid-late 00's. The last time it was this high was around October 2008.

I did that!

And that's no malarkey!

Because corn farmers pay politicians to make us use corn in our gasoline.

NO other reason.

What idiot blogger or idiot friend claims that it is inedible corn. It's the same fricking corn. It is also used to make whiskey, vodka, etc.. (Smirnoff is known for buying rotten grain on the cheap from the major grain companies)

The stuff other posters are mentioning made from corn is made mostly from cornstarch like they have been for well over 100 years.

DDGS, a co product of ethanol, is used as a higher protein animal feed ingredient.

So plant the edible type and pump more oil. Gas price goes down and so will food prices.

Dims do not want to fix problems because they would not be relevant.

You don't know much about chickens and cattle do you? And it's subsidized on top of that. If it needs subsidies, it should die, not even considering what it does to all engines but especially onerous on small engines.

Ethanol sucks.

The higher the content, the worse the MPG.

This is correct.

And both parties are in on the scam. Why do you think they all
show up in Iowa and eat corndogs?

Ethanol has about 2/3 the BTUs of gasoline. So the mileage has to go down. Plus it absorbs water, separates out and can cause damage in some engines. Gasoline is a lot better fuel.

It's the same freaking corn. Some idiot came up with inedible. The farmers will commit some of their crop to the ethanol plant he partially owns and save the rest for the best price, ethanol or food.

Will this be in regular gasoline at higher levels than it is now or will it be specially marked?

It’s going to cause cattle, chicken, fish feed to skyrocket and thus meat prices.

It will lead to higher meat prices. Which is the goal. Make meat unaffordable

Just another part of the plan to break the working class and give the government totally control. ‘You own nothing and love us for it’

This is bullshite. There is no variety of corn that is not edible. All depends on how hungry you are.
