The hospital deleted their Twitter page. Dr. Jung deleted his LinkedIn. The hospital removed his name from their website.

I don't know what any of this means, but it isn't looking good for him or the hospital.

Let's talk about the Overton Window.

The Overton window is the range of ideas, policies, and discourse that is considered politically and socially acceptable to the applicable culture or organization or larger society.

Each entity determines their own tolerance for allowing the expression of opinions that may violate society's norms...that's their Overton Window.

When leftists are getting fired it's because they are expressing opinions that are so far beyond the pale of what society considers acceptable that the organization determines that they do not wish to be associated with it. They've gone outside that organization's window.

The problem for the hospital in this case is that the employee expressing opinions beyond the pale of mainstream public discourse was not the one fired. The nurse was correct—his opinion not only violated society's norms, but probably violated codes of conduct established by the hospital and the AMA, yet she was the one fired. Plus, the doctor started the whole thing, so they can't even argue that she was the one creating a hostile work environment.

Most companies have a code of conduct now regarding social media and what's not allowed/grounds for disciplinary action "up to and including termination". My guess is by posting about the incident online, she violated a policy like this and won't have a leg to stand on.

She was absolutely right to take issue with the doctor and refuse to stand for it. She was absolutely wrong to put it on social media and expect to keep her job. As much as it sucks, there are proper ways of handling this and she did something that wasn't allowed.

I may have misunderstood. She was only fired once she put it on social media? I thought she was fired immediately and posted about the whole thing on social media.

If the former, you are correct.

I read it was infront of staff and included a patient of the hospital. Deposition of each, I would assume, would be enough that the hospital will want to reinstate her and settle out of court financially.
