Literally one third of the general population has some form of mental illness.

One of my best friends is a shrink and she thinks we should put Prozac in the water

Well yeah, when “anxiety disorder” is a mental illness that’ll up the numbers. Plus I noticed in my nieces’ generation (they’re 30-something) seeing a professional was some badge of honor when they were in HS, and they’ve transmitted that to their kids. Nothing can just be “yeah, we’re working on that”, everything has to have a name and be catered to.

Reminds me of folks fatally shot, who were found to test positive for Covid.

Stated cause of death?
Covid 19.

For instance, it could be that being in an ICU itself is somewhat damaging to mental health.
Being on a regular inpatient floor will leave folks with PTSD from never ending 4 hour checks.

Dr. prescribes rest. Nurse wakes you up every 4 hours to check temp, the flea botanist comes a couple times to stick a needle in, here comes a meal, oh look more blood pressure checks, ...

So increase depression, substance abuse, insomnia, and anxiety during a lockdown pandemic? You don't say.

said COVID-19 survivors have a 44% greater risk of these issues compared to people who had the flu.

So, they're saying 1 in 4.5 people experience the same thing from the flu.

That reflects the general population

Mental health is out of control

A year of lockdowns, riots, and being lied to probably had something to do with it.
