Trump put Elon in the position to do that. I’m certainly not going to give Trump credit for “everything,” but it’s just not nearly possible to have a rational discussion with someone who doesn’t give him credit for anything.

Only because Elon supported him based on the Trump lie that he was going to be serious about things.

Not sure why you think I don't give Trump credit for anything. I certainly do.

It seems more to me like some of you just don't know how to deal with the fact that you are liberals compared to others. You're use to having the luxury of being to the right of democrats and making those arguments. But now when you are being held to the actual standard you preach, you can't deal with it.

People like Ben Shapiro are like this. Great against stupid college liberals, but gets their asses kicked by anyone who is actually conservative/libertarian.

You’re calling someone a liberal because they don’t criticize Trump on all the things that you believe they should. I can’t imagine how you justify in your mind that that’s a credible, rational or logical line of reasoning.

Elon as of last week was complaining that solar subsidies were being cut. He has said cut the EV mandates because it benefits Tesla now that they can produce EV’s much more cheaply than all companies outside of China.

I understand his frustration about the debt but until there is a will to do it in the Senate then it is not going to happen. The only reason Clinton could balance the budget is because he worked with Republicans.

Also I’m sure the Tesla board and shareholders are getting tired of Elon runnings his mouth.

No, I'm calling you liberals because your positions are basically those of democrats 30 years ago and you are far to the left of me.

Yeah, they were against open borders, balanced budgets, reduced spending and all that back then too. Or claimed to be.

There is no will in congress because there is no will in the people to hold the people in congress accountable for their votes.

Instead it's "gotta keep the letter R in charge, even if it means doing everything the D wants".

He can also set the agenda for the GOP and politicians considering the popularity he had 6 months ago.

That's horseshite he can't make them vote stuff no matter how much you want to pretend he can

Hell it's the other direction but somebody like Massie he has already promised to primary, Massie isn't changing his vote, and likely we win reelection

Knowing maybe 1% in passing about me on an anonymous internet discussion forum, I find it quite curious that you seem confident enough to label me a liberal, or for that matter a conservative or anything else. It’s confounding, really. But hey, you’re entitled to play how you wanna play on the anonymous message board. For your own sake I hope for you that you snap out of it eventually.

Elon has proven that he is no patriot. He was just another grifter looking to try and buy influence.

He's also world's foremost champion of free speech. That seems like something that deserves a mention.

When you reflect back to these fake negotiations for BBB, the very first person to call for heads was Elon. He threatened to primary the spineless cucks.

Only recently did Trump jump on the “get rid of Tillis” wagon. People in these districts and states just dgad about politics. It reminds me of people who have cancer saying “I’ll take care of it later” only for it to kill them.

So he was always about cutting EV subsidies and held to that.

Are we cutting corn subsidies and getting ethanol out of gasoline?

Have been a fan of Elon from the git go and his MAGA phase is/was definitely icing on the cake.

All that said, 99.99999% of us can only guess what it might be like to have his position of wealth and acumen.

Two things:
1) Regarding of my admiration, I have never suffered the illusion that he is a person residing alongside the rest of us within 1 standard deviation of the human mean - hell, his proclivity for baby-mamas alone (which puts NBA stars to shame) and exotically-named children is plenty enough evidence for that.
2) This ‘break up’ from Trump was so sudden, dramatic, and traumatic that it practically is indisputable evidence of some extreme psycho/neurological spectrum location.

TLDR: dude is an extreme example of blessing and curse…

You can’t cut it all without replacing a bunch of GOPe congressmen and expanding the lead in the house.

Elon is a weirdo, but this current drama all stems from Trump lying to Elon about DOGE cuts. Elon poured his soul into the project, and Trump applied about 2% of his effort.

That isn't how the reconciliation process works. They're pushing through what they can push through by using this method.

This is no hindsight coming from me: I have never been part of the Musk fan club, for exactly the reason that Trump is talking about. I never understood the supposed alliance between the two, when Musk is taking all of that money to build crappy, unreliable electric vehicles. He seemed like the last person who should be talking about cutting spending, and this squabble was incredibly predictable.

There is no lie here. Trump can't just wave his hand and make cuts. Congress is in charge of that, and this is what they do. THEY lie.
