Wow, a whole lot of ignorance (or trolling) in this thread.
I wondered why such a question is posed in the political talk forum. Then I realized that the ignorance on display is a visual explanation of how Trump got elected.

Google what's actually in a flu shot. You'll never get one after reading that.

quote:You could apply the same logic to most risks we want to minimize. In fact, most people are far less likely to get cancer, Alzheimer’s, etc. in their lifetime than getting the flu. It’s just the flu prevelance is measured as an annual prevalence while many diseases are measured as a lifetime prevalence.
So this means that you’d need to treat approximately 100 people to prevent a single case of flu, or put another way, of 100 people that get the flu shot, 99 of them won’t benefit at all.

I did, and there are different types of vaccines. What, exactly, is causing you concern?

Here is some actual science, and it is clear that many of you need to read these.

You flu anti vaxxers are the reason we’re seeing new flu cases for the first time in 50 years!

My wife was in Monroe when it hit her. Had to go to the emergency room. I had to drive down and baby sit her for four days until she felt good enough for us to drive back home. Luckily I never got it. She wore a mask the whole time and I lysoled the shite out of everything she touched.

Only had the flu once in last 20 years.
Tamiflu knocked it out in 1 day.

You literally are laughing at the Mayo Clinic.
If you break a bone, I assume that you would rely upon their medical expertise to fix it. If you get cancer, I assume that you would rely upon their medical expertise to cure it.
So why would you reject their medical expertise when it comes to a flu vaccination?

NOPE!!!! Not gonna do it. Your immune system needs to be tested on occasion. If you’re in really poor health I would consider getting the flu and pneumonia shot.

You trust the medical expertise of the Mayo Clinic when it comes to a broken bone. You trust the medical expertise of the Mayo Clinic when it comes to cancer.
Yet with no rational explanation whatsoever, you reject the medical expertise of the Mayo Clinic when it comes to vaccinations.
You must be a Trump supporter. To borrow his phrase, that's sad.

Lot of doctors saying you shouldn't.
If you're very old or very young or you are immunocompromised, then you should probably get it.
I am not and have not and have never had the flu. I see 100s of patients with flu every year.
It is the one vaccine (along with Gardasil) that isn't effective, or the benefits don't outweigh the risks.
