So the Taliban just announced that they have now captured Kandahar.

Billions of dollars of equipment was left behind by the Afghan Army apparently including some drones according to a guy I just seen on tv. This is a damn disaster. You can arm the Afghan Army but what they need most is a set of balls. Never in my life did I ever think another Fall of Saigon would happen in my lifetime but this is exactly what we are watching. But hey at least the military leaders that are in charge of this cluster frick is woke. Instead of trying to find so called extremist in our own military what these idiots should have been doing is trying to figure out how real extremist in Afghanistan didn’t get there hands on billions of dollars of US taxpayer built military equipment like drones!!!!

I don't care about Afghanistan, or Iran, or Iraq, or North Korea.
Our own government is worse than any of them. The Feds are actively hunting down Patriots and imprisoning them on false charges. They are stealing elections and corrupting our children.
We have far more pressings problems at home to worry about anywhere else. Those days are over.

frick Afghanistan. frick those people because they choose to live in the 15th century in a backwards culture. I couldn't care less what happens to them.
Leave and just bomb the shite out of any training camps and other military targets if they harbor terrorists that attack Americans.
I think China and Iran are going to try to move in on Afghanistan for the minerals. Let them be bled of blood and treasure. Enjoy.

Well here is the problem. If the Taliban has some of our drones all they need is a pilot to operate it and a place to refuel it and they can just fly that thing over here and shoot a hellfire at some target in the USA. So yeah this could be a big problem that can’t be ignored.

The Taliban knows they can do harm to America by turning the drones over to China to be reverse engineered instead of keeping them. They’ll be in China in a matter of days

This is the same scenario as Iraq. They have to want to fight for their own country. Unfortunately it looks like the Taliban has more support in Afghanistan than ISIL had in Iraq.

And just like Vietnam all that military soft/hardware will end up facing us on hot spots around the globe for the next decade or so. The Afghan army is about as legit as the stomp the yard militia marching around Stone Mountain last year.

Yeah they make me think of that line in the movie Full Metal Jacket when he is trying to cut a deal with some pimp and offers him some ARVN rifles. They were never fired and only dropped once. Apparently that applies to the Afghan Army too.

And like in Iraq, their tribal allegiances trump any kind of national identidy. They don't fight for a country. They fight for tribal interests of which some go back to ancient times.
Flying an Afghan flag, saluting and giving them voting ballots isn't going to undo thousands of years of traditions and customs. They just aren't wired like us. They don't value western style democracy or its freedoms. Leave them alone.
China and Iran aren't going to be able to conquer that land anyway. No one will. They will always be a war torn country. So leave them be.

Now not only do they have their own which could be improved based on aspects of ours that are superior to theirs, but they can learn how to jam ours. No offense but to not realize the extent they want our military secrets is foolish
