Echo chambers in general tend to be shitty places for quality discussion.
Any outsiders get piled on and often leave in frustration(or just stick around mostly trolling) and there is a natural downward trend toward the collective IQ of the community.
Since echo chambers often do a shite job of weeding out their own or fostering quality discourse, so growth tends to be driven by the stupid wing growing larger and larger until collapse or they achieve full-retard
With that said, there have been some decent threads and discussions I have gotten into since taking the plunge. So this place isn't really full-retard yet... And the lax moderation probably helps prevent that layer of shite that occurs in so many communities once mods start taking a heavy hand to protect the echo chamber.

There's an abnormal amount of simply shitty, horrible people that post on this board. There's no shortage of these horrible threads where most of the posters agree with a simply disgusting premise. Want to keep going?

Because the board leans right doesn't make it an echo chamber. No one can help the fact that the lion's share of people posting on this site are men. Probably white men and mostly from the south. Demographically speaking, that's going to skew heavy right. With that being said, there has been plenty of disagreement amongst people on the right on this board, particularly in regards to Trump vs establishment Republicanism. And there used to be a fairly vocal Libertarian contingent. So I don't think echo chamber really fits the Poli Board.
And I'd say the dialogue between left and right on the Poli Board really isn't much different than our national political dialogue at this stage in our political life. Ever turn on the TV and watch "professionals" discuss politics? Lots of shite getting thrown around the room. Unfortunately that's just the state of our national discourse.

Watching a lot of our older posters line up to take a facial from Comcast is one of the better parts of this board, but I'm not sure it really makes up for the threads about why Jeff Sessions should have removed Federal Judges from the bench.
