CD, if you think I give a frick about debating the intellectual capacity of this board's members with you at 11 pm on a weeknight by giving point-by-point rebuttal's, then you have to be....
No, I think you just specifically left out acknowledging anything that might stand in the way of the simplified narrative you wanted to present. And I didn't say anything about debating intellectual capacities of anyone. I simply pointed out people's willingness to pick out one sentence and deliberately withhold all elaboration around it in order to perpetuate an intellectually dishonest dialogue.
It's like your critiques of the Poli Board are a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Would definitely be one hell of a titfrick.
But I laughed my arse off at the ball player she took those nudes with and the hilarious photoshops that ensued after. Especially the one with Price Fielder.
Btw, this is my definition of an OT 9.99 body because 10 doesn't exist. Can you imagine how much energy she would have in bed?

Ironic statement is ironic.
It's usually the apolitical folk that don't have the patience and intellectual understanding and capability to go for blow by blow debate on here.
Very little to do with political bias.

Wow. That gaggle of rejects and frickups thinks the p-board is a soup sandwich in spite of my most earnest efforts to elevate the soggy sons of bitches who lost here? Well that's embarrassing.
Might be time to pop smoke with my street cred intact.

I think it's telling that you have to cite one-off examples to prove some point when the entire OT board is one big example of the difference between there and here.

Because the board leans right doesn't make it an echo chamber. No one can help the fact that the lion's share of people posting on this site are men. Probably white men and mostly from the south. Demographically speaking, that's going to skew heavy right. With that being said, there has been plenty of disagreement amongst people on the right on this board, particularly in regards to Trump vs establishment Republicanism. And there used to be a fairly vocal Libertarian contingent. So I don't think echo chamber really fits the Poli Board.
I think that is exactly what a typical echo chamber looks like around the internet.
Disagreements are between the right and the further right(or vice versa), the make-up of opinions is largely concentrated within a framework of only one side of the opinion spectrum, beliefs are amplified or reinforced, approved sources often go unquestioned or very lightly challenged, and competing views are met with over-whelming hostility.
Here's an exercise, post a thread with a positive response to either of these stories:
LINK
LINK
And tell me how many responses consist of down votes, "fake news," snowflakes, evil SJW's, the evil of liberalism, moral erosion of America, this is Trump's America, pile-on's, or "get out of here liberal" etc.
Then post this story(for the third or fourth time):
LINK
And see how many people point this out that aren't named me: LINK

Just stay in your poli-board safe space.

Perhaps it is, in your mind. But I've seen quite a great deal of disagreement and debate on this site over the years and most recently the Trump vs anti-Trump split looked nothing like an "echo chamber." But obviously the term is subjective. I explained earlier why I don't consider it to be an apt description.

It's a political board that skews heavily right, that's already been established. Nothing else here reflects anything out of the norm for a forum that skews heavily in favor of any particular viewpoint. There are liberals and leftists that post here and are free to post here whenever they choose. It's not a conservative, Republican, or right wing exclusive board whatsoever. It's simply the political forum on an LSU themed message board. Thus for the demographic reasons I explained earlier, it predictably skews right.

You are suggesting that any article presenting a liberal POV is met with non-substantive rebuttals, which is untrue. But it's also no surprise that on a right leaning board a thread on transgenderism in the Boy Scouts won't be received with enthusiastic agreement. And why should it if it runs contrary to one's reasoning and values?
All your examples have done is indicate the board skews heavily to the right, which is not in question.

The board where majority hetero males discuss topics such as WWE and how hot Eric Decker is has a poor opinion of the politics board?
I wouldn't let it bother you,desu.

Because you seem to define echo chamber as mindless allegiance to one viewpoint. Ignoring what the term actually means. Or that it is some zero sum/all-or-nothing arrangement.
By your logic Democratic Underground would not qualify as an echo chamber because you have Bernie and Clinton wings constantly arguing with each other and the occasional token Republican wandering into discussions. But by pretty much all common definitions, it is a model echo chamber.
Like I said earlier, I don't label this place full-retard. The lax moderation has meant that you don't have that layer of heavy handed moderation that often pushes things over the edge into full retard. And the community is not so big that the echo chamber qualities drown out outsiders completely. But it is borderline.

I wouldn't worry about it. The OT are children they don't like politics because its boring to them and its boring to them cause they don't understand any of it.
Once they grow up and start paying taxes they might care a little more about stately matters till then leave them to their would you hit it threads.

The cool thing to do on the OT is virtue signal about how moderate you are politically

the only thing this board is missing at the moment is a trust fund white chick getting mocked relentlessly for demanding the rest of us accept poverty so everyone (but her) would be equal.

I love it every time you complain about this, while simultaneously using it to fill in for a point you can't make.
It's simply precious.

Oh, forgive me. I didn't know the phrase "echo chamber" had a finely delineated definition. And no, I didn't at all suggest it was "zero sum/all-or-nothing." Once again, I actually posted what I thought explaining why I disagree with the pejorative in this instance, so you don't have to speculate on what I think the term means or why it isn't necessarily a fair accusation of the Poli Board.

I've never been to Democratic Underground so I have no idea. But if they have critical, political debate going on between Bernie Sanders style ideals vs Hillary Clinton style ideas then I'd say that's not exemplifying an echo chamber. But Democratic Underground, as far as I can tell, is a board EXPLICITLY for Democrats and like minded people. It's raison d'etre is to promote and advance causes of the left. As I've said, Tigerdroppings Poli Board is nothing of the sort, so in the instance that it leans heavily right that is a result of demographics or unwillingness of those on the left to post.

So now it's just borderline.
