Who in government was involved in giving orders?

IDK, yet. A lot more to be revealed.

ETA: likely a lot of DOJ and FBI officials given the fact that James Baker moved from the DOJ to Twitter counsel…or was James Baker still employed by the DOJ?

Those guys have got to be at least 90 years old by now! If they’re still alive.

Baker was already working for twitter in 2020. He left the FBI in 2018.

You know there are people thinking up shite to throw at him. He'll get the Trump treatment and probably never get out from under the mountain they'll place over his head

If I were Musk, I would hire a small marine division for security, have a really faithful food tester and stuff a billion dollars under the mattress just in case he is ever cut off from his bank account.

Did government actually order or threaten penalties against Twitter? Or just make recommendations/requests? That’s an important distinction when it comes to First Amendment.

This isn’t an impressive distinction.

It’s like “did the government tell the hospitals not to use ivermectin? Or did they just make a suggestion?”

Everyone knows what the suggestion from the government means.

The problem I see is that Taibi said it was available to both parties. But the population of Dems inside Twitter made it one sided. And was it the DNC Biden campaign or Specific politicians ? Because that’ll depend on whether Twitter is a government actor as their agent.

Was “the government” involved at all? If so, who or what departments?

Serious question. I keep seeing stuff about government and 1st amendment. Who was in office or working on behalf of the govt and involved in ordering stuff get taken down?

You are so mentally ill. The governing body of the Democratic Party colluded with a private company to violate the 1st amendment of a private citizen. You should be appalled.

Your strategy appears to have been reduced to an insistence on each specific detail or else the entire “package” is completely dismissed. Lame.

A political party is not the US Government. A private group requested posts made on a private company’s website be taken down. That has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment.

Not concerning Twitter we do know Mark Zuckaburg was influenced by the FBI to censor political speech on FB.

Matt also talks about “Team Biden” contacting Twitter to censor political speech. IDK what the legal ramifications of this are.

That will be the legal standard.

I have a strong suspicion that with more revelations there will be a smoking gun email or text between the DOJ/FBI telling Twitter to censor political speech. These guys were very close.

Now that would be a lot bigger of a deal, imo, than what has been seen so far.

If you ignore the larger context and take into account other instances and examples, which is the appropriate thing to do, then it instantly becomes a big deal.

Just admit that you are ok with the government suppressing free speech as long as it benefits your team. If the show was on the other foot, you’d be screeching bloody murder
