No. My contention is clearly that the Marines have "as the President may direct" portion of the Marine Corps' job description puts them in quite a few non-amphibious situations, including combat far from beaches, running security detail on some Navy ships (originally the Corps' primary function), protecting U.S. embassies as well as the White House....etc
What's so hard about that?

The War Powers Act allows POTUS to send the military anywhere and notify Congress withing 48 hours of doing so...

The Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) is normally the highest ranking officer in the United States Marine Corps and is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The CMC reports directly to the United States Secretary of the Navy and is responsible for ensuring the organization, policy, plans, and programs for the Marine Corps as well as advising the President, the Secretary of Defense, the National Security Council, the Homeland Security Council, and the Secretary of the Navy on matters involving the Marine Corps. Under the authority of the Secretary of the Navy, the CMC designates Marine personnel and resources to the commanders of Unified Combatant Commands. The commandant performs all other functions prescribed in Section 5043 in Title 10 of the United States Code or delegates those duties and responsibilities to other officers in his administration in his name.

That doesn't mean they "report directly to the president". Every branch answers to the executive office (as opposed to the judicial or legislative) but that doesn't mean they report directly.

What in the entire tarnation would those that are a mix of maybe Army and Marines going to do exactly in DC? (they aren't in DC- but get into their fantasy)
Let's cut to the Q sub topic chase. They think Pelosi and the bad guys will be arrested by those helo's and taken to: What they swear are prison ships they see on google earth---- off of the island of GTMO NAS, or newly built jails for politico/civilians @ GTMO NAS.
If you dare tell them otherwise -you are a shill democrat or -don't have as high an IQ as they do from being enlightened from reading a porn laced image board of puzzles and KEK memes.
The sad thing is I feel their pain. I wish to God the Marines could and would arrest/accompany Pelosi and other crooks- and take them to a volcano for first class viewing---- and a lovely side trip to her luxury vacation she so deserves.

Actually there are several things they will tend to do for big events that are happening in D.C. Like the inauguration, state of the union, and other high profile events...
There is even a headquarters for such NSSEs in the NCR
