Yeah, I’m sure this policy and weekly outrage will affect real change. How about increase funding for school security if you really want to do something.

Lock the schools down. Deploy metal detectors.

So many preventative measures besides straight to “No more guns”.

People are idiots.

The worst idea in the world is to only have government and criminals (same thing) with high powered weapons.

They're not real sure what they want, but that won't stop them from screaming about it.

Both sides like to put kids on TV when they support their views, and I find it strange. Although like anything else, it's best to either ignore it or just look at the content and facts of the message. In this case, I think it's fine go just let people who went through a traumatic experience to vent, and understand that they went through a traumatic experience, and just move on to the rational discussions.

Their argument is, no bullshite, "we can't have armed guards at schools because that might lead to school shootings."

This is how fricking retarded they are, and how you know it has nothing to do with child safety.

How does something like this even happen? Aren't guns in schools illegal?

Flipping through radio channels this morning, I stopped on NPR doing a report about kids from the Florida school speaking out against guns. “Enough!” was their mantra.

Merrily, t he host says “Maybe it’s time we let children take the lead.”

Yeah, that’s a great freaking idea. Idiots.

If each school would budget $200,000.00 for two armed security personnel, it would cut down on these issues dramatically. It may not be a wholesale deterrent but it would provide structure to have at least two guards at every school. Their central role would only be weapons violence and preventions. Not breaking up school fights.

There also needs to be some common sense and responsibility on behalf of the kids. If you see some idiot who you think may be a threat, it needs to be reported. Some measure of responsibility has to be assumed. Look, when we were in HS, we all knew who the threats were. Everyone knew those oddballs, who they were and we kept an eye on them.

Do kids do that nowadays? Hell if I know but they should be reporting such behavior.

There sure are a lot of dumb young girls demanding that we get rid of our guns.

That must be because the men are the ones who are the militia that would protect the women.

Those kids just experienced a tragic incident unlike anything they will likely experience again. While I do not begrudge them the emotional response of “no more guns” I completely despise DWS for playing on their emotions to gain political points for gun control.

There is absolutely no way for the government to protect all citizens at all times even if ALL of the firearms in the United States were confiscated.

Evil will do what is necessary to inflict evil actions. Guns or no guns.

Please enlighten me.

When was the last time Republicans put kids on TV en masse who supported their views?

That's fine with me as long as they don't go on TV en masse and demand that the adults immediately make a law that violates any of our constitutional rights.

There are about 98,200 public schools in the US. To add $200,000 per school for security the cost would be.....

$19,264,200,000. 19.2B would seem like an easy appropriation for this Congress.
