All of this is a wonderful flight of fancy wholly unconnected to our discussion.

The problem is that people are acting like they have all of the information to come to a conclusion, on both sides. What is clear is that those two guys should be in prison for being dumbasses with a God complex.

You've read the police report?

Not saying I know that they saw him committing a crime, I don't know what happened.

Would you go after him with a gun? What would you do?

I almost certainly wouldn't. I'm merely observing that it absolutely DOES change the dynamic.

And, the above said...…….if he'd stolen FROM ME before, yeah, I might chase his arse.

By the way. I am amused at how much the people who love to scream racism throw the word rednecks around.

They were country white dudes.

People often refer to country white dudes as rednecks

I hope this isn't new or interesting information to you

All of you would shite your collective fricking pants if the roles were reversed and EVERY reference the black guys involved said "these n****s were following him and...…"

I don't think redneck really carries the same weight as the N word

It's more about people being country than it is about being white

The N word can be applied to all blacks regardless of personality or culture

Looks like you're being intentionally stupid again

No. I'm referring to the idea that even if he wasn't caught in the process in this moment, if he had previously been caught stealing from this neighborhood and the shooters knew this...……..it would absolutely have to be considered when looking at this situation.

Right. If there was paperwork or documentation that attested to that, it would be useful to have. But we don't have that, or at least it isn't referenced in the documentation. Not only that, there was only 1 break-in that was reported to the police, with a handgun stolen from the McMichael's on New Year's Day.

quote:

I'm sorry. If, for example, some dude stole from my neighbors last month...……..got caught...…...didn't live in my area...……..and then...……...today, I see that fricker running thru my neighborhood in shall we say, unorthodox jogging wear, my reaction is going to be different than if just some random black guy runs down my street.

Which is why the lack of reference to any earlier incident is curious. The explicit justification of the McMichael's was that they had seen him first on surveillance video, and then in person at a later point in time. The first justification was used to suggest that he was the burglar, and the second justification was used to state why they were armed. But we have no evidence he was caught, no evidence of what was stolen, no evidence that he actually did anything illegal. What we do have is an admission by the property owner whose house is being built that all the surveillance footage saw was "trespassing," and we have corroboration that Arbery jogged along the road that lead directly to the neighborhood. In fact, we have more evidence that he was a jogger than he was involved in any of the thefts at this point.

The fact that the internal DA memo seemingly assumes his guilt without actual physical evidence is a very curious omission that begs the question as to what was stolen, when it was stolen, and why the McMichael's suspected Arbery. From the police report, we know that McMichael saw Arbery three times. One time on the surveillance video shared by his neighbor, one time on some previous night (the exact date we don't know) when he apparently saw Arbery reach into his pants, making him think he was armed, and the third time when he saw Arbery "hauling arse" down Satilla to Buford Drive. Why were none of the other supposed break-ins reported to police? Why was nothing mentioned about what exactly Arbery was supposed to be stealing? And why didn't McMichael tell the dispatcher exactly what Arbery was doing that precipitated the 911 call?

Based on the pictures I have seen, they are rednecks until proven otherwise...

So. For clarity.

If a person not from your area stole from your neighborhood and was caught for it...……...then, later, you saw that same person running down your street...………..you'd be like, "meh, probably jogging this time?"

I'd call the police and let them handle it.

Like a normal sane person would.

shut up, man. Show me when I have ever "screamed racism" and I'll show you examples of me making fun of those who do. These guys were rednecks. They'd probably even proudly tell you that themselves. What is racist about a white guy calling a white dipshit a redneck anyway?

Oh yes.

The use of the word here is entirely innocuous.

You can think whatever you want, but the law doesn't allow you to make a citizen's arrest in that scenario.

Says the guy trying to pretend the word redneck is being used in this scenario in much the same way some country singer might use it.

LINK

The first paragraph alone undermines their claims of "immediate knowledge" of a crime, as they specifically state they started chasing him after they him "hauling arse."

Yes.

Which is my only point. Everyone seems to be acting like they know EVERYTHING they need from a 15 second video.

They can't.

Who gives a shite what is in your pictures. These idiots had every right to shoot him IF this guy came into their house and robbed them and it occurred in their home. When they jumped in their truck with shotguns they are simply idiot murderers....nothing more.
