So is overtly misleading (aka, lying to) the FISA court to obtain a warrant not illegal?

I’m hearing this from the MSM defenders. It’s highly unethical but not illegal.

I'm pretty sure paying media to run fake stories and then using said fake stories as "corroboration" is breaking a few laws.

It's perjury at the very least.

That's the standard we're looking for in the highest levels of federal law enforcement IMO

Where did we learn that someone paid the media to run fake stories?

And yet, Flynn is in trouble for lying to the FBI. How ironic!

Fraud on the court, multiple times. Plus perjury when combined with testimony to Congress

Steele supposedly leaked some stuff to yahoo news, and yahoo news was then used as a second, independent source in the fisa application.

Yeah I don't know why the DNC would pay the media to run fake stories when they'll do it for free. Haven't heard that.

Why even require an affidavit, then? Hell, why get the Judge/Court involved at all? Just make anything they want, fair game on anyone's whim who wants it. That's basically what they're saying here.

Yeh I read that, but I haven't ready anywhere that someone paid the media. That would be a different level. Media usually runs stuff free or sometimes pays to run stuff to get ratings. To me they are just being pawns in the game but weren't paid.

Remember the Dems believe the ends justify the means. They can break any law they want because it’s for their cause.

Exactly. It makes no sense.

Perpetrating a fraud on the Court is direct contempt of court and is a crime.

it really is crazy

it's like with the Mike Brown/BLM stuff. they are actively arguing for lowering due process protections against the civilian population

they're trying to justify using an unverified, partisan piece of opposition research paid for by the political opponent of the proposed target, and all the LEO have to do is swear the document exist (and leave out all the bad characteristics)
