Th judge will rely on the evidence.
He isn’t claiming to be an expert.
It really doesn’t much matter what the banks thought. If sworn financial statements were knowingly false, that’s enough for a finding of fraud.

So you can pretend this is a big witch hunt, but if you forge appraisals, you should get in trouble for it, period. You can't do that.
Did you read this on Reddit?

Ask yourself this question honestly, if you can. Do you honestly believe the banks loaned the man money based on his word and own valuation without doing any kind of due diligence? If the answer is no, then the case should be tossed out immediately...
I'm sure that they did some kind of due diligence. I'm sure they did something. But it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't go above and beyond. Trump lied about both square footage and falsely stated that properties were appraised by a professional when in reality that professional never did the appraisal.
You're argument is that Trump is allowed to lie on documents and it's everyone else's job to check everything. That's horseshite. It's the type of argument that only a cult member would try making.

Has the court or judge even said what the correct valuation should be?

So… the trial already has a guilty verdict before they are even done other testimony? Yeah, automatic appeal.

So the judge and courts were able to find this, but the banks who actually loaned the money for YEARS didnt?
So what you are saying is that I'm allowed to go to a bank and tell them that I own a house that is twice the actual size of my current house and give them a really high appraised value with an appraisers name next to it that never appraised the property and I shouldn't get in any trouble at all for lying on those documents?

Ahhhh...the ole Cult insult.
And it makes perfect sense to not go above and beyond on due diligence when you are loaning out hundreds of millions of dollars, right? I mean that's exactly the type of attitude that got all of those banks skyscrapers right?
And I dont know if youve ever bought a house, but you do know the bank has their own appraiser, right?

Can you link the document where this occurred? I would like to look at the source info for these claims.

What else are you expecting? You're argument is that Trump is allowed to do whatever he wants. If he lies then it's perfectly ok.

Rush always said "The seriousness of the charge is what matters. Not if it actually is true or not"
Posted on 11/6/23 at 2:32 pm to RedStickFox
Oh really? When did i say that?
Posted on 11/6/23 at 2:33 pm to RedStickFox
Well if you are referring to the Trump penthouse apartment, it’s been reported that the square footage was tripled (not doubled)

The source documents are what the AG is using to make her case. As for the appraiser, he testified to that under oath in the trial. I've posted links to both in other posts on this forum.

I understand that. I don’t usually believe what a prosecutor alleges is necessarily a fact. Which is why i asked for the source document. You’ve seen it, right?

I think you're missing the key point here and focusing too much on facts..... Orange man bad!

Cool, so who was defrauded? How much money did they lose because of what the Trump valued his assets at?

It's been your entire argument throughout this thread. I show that Trump lied and you respond with "well the bank didn't catch him!" as though that's an argument. You think it's perfectly fine that they tripled square footage on a form and that they falsely put someone's name as an appraiser when he never did an appraisal.
You don't have to lick his boots my guy.

Would it help you understanding to learn that former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg has already admitted in court that he was aware the size of former President Donald Trump’s Manhattan penthouse was smaller than what the company reported?
Posted on 11/6/23 at 2:40 pm to RedStickFox
So the courts were able to figure this out but not the banks who were lending hundreds of millions of dollars? Is that the argument we are going with?
