Competing narratives tonight go like this:

According to Fox guests, hush money is not a crime and a widely used tactic in DC politics.

According to Lanny Davis on CNNs, Cohen suddenly realized patriotism and what a danger Trump is to this country, esp after Helsinki, and he decided to turn on Trump. Davis referenced conspiracy and language of impeachment like high crimes and misdemeanors of Trump.

Avinati surprising called Davis BS and said Cohen didn’t suddenly become a patriot after knowing Trump for 15yrs, that he’s just looking out for his arse.

Both suggest a Trump company payment with a paper trail is a smoking gun and evidence of a crime.

Avenati also suggests he would get to depose the president after deposing Cohen.

Meanwhile Fox guests suggest if hush money is paid for personal or corporate benefit, that election influence is then null. Basically those actions have to be solely for election benefit to be criminal.

I’m drawing no conclusions here. I don’t know the law.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go vomit after watching CNN.

My question would be aren't Stormy Avenatti and Karen Mc Dougal all guilty of crimes?

If they approached Trump's people asking for payola or they would release damaging info before the election, that is extortion, or blackmail. They may have twisted or worded it some different way trying to avoid it, but that is exactly what this was and someone should charge them with it.

The problem is, all politicians are corrupt, and Washington is so knee deep in filth that there wouldn't be one politician left if we started procecuting all who have; cheated on taxes, had affairs, used insider trading to make money, hired illegals, etc.
The biggest problem that I have is that only one side is ever held accountable for these deeds.

Is this going to fall as flat as all of the other dates you promised a boom? How embarrassing for you.

This is what I've never understood. Unless it just happened. If you have been content with the 'situation' for a decade, then suddenly pop up in the closing days of an election with a threat of smearing a candidate when they have no time to effectively respond, then that should be the ultimate political crime.

It is nothing short of extortion and.or blackmail.

I literally hate "october surprises' with ever fibre of my body.

So why aren’t congressman and senators who have a slush fund to pay off sexually harassed staffers not charged with the same crime?

It’s my understanding that Trump bought the story from the inquirer and it wasn’t directly from the women. I originally had this same thought about it being extortion then heard somewhere that he bought the rights to the story.

Are you suggesting we give Democrats a free pass then? If HRC or Obama cheated on their taxes, you're good with it?

You must have missed the fact that Bill Clinton is the only POTUS to have been impeached since Andrew Jackson.

You've nailed it Rev. Minus the "all"; though even the good folk who go up there must work within the System (corrupt version) to even have a voice for the people they represent. The very essence of 'politics' is compromise. "A little leavening...".

So Samson has had a few Delilahs in his past. Big deal.

How's the destruction of the Philistine temple going?

Thats what we hired him fot, because we were sick of Herod Bush carrying the flag.

You can easily establish payments were made prior to election so this is not a campaign issue.

According to Lanny Davis
Lanny Davis is filthy.
He is going to do his best to lever any Cohen claim against Trump.
For Davis, this is all about Democrat and anti-Trump politics.

I'm sure he sold Cohen on the merits of that approach. But Davis would put Clinton revenge above Cohen's defense 100 times out of 100. Cohen had better hope the two objectives are perfectly in sync.
