So I am all about "following the science"

So can anyone give me a specific scientific study that definitely states what benefits mask wearing has in the fight against Covid? Especially when the vast majority of people wearing the masks or wearing them wrong or wearing some crappy knockoff mask? First time I was forced to wear a mask I walked by someone smoking. You know what I realized.....I could smell the smoke, even with my mask on. So if I am able to smell things with my mask on, wouldn't common sense tell you that a much smaller virus would be able to work it's way through this "supposed" protection?

I used to think wearing a mask helped when I mowed my pastures, not. For big splaters, maybe. For airbourne particles, naw.

' Follow the science ' is a cultish mantra that gets tossed around far too often by social engineers and those who want to control us.
Oh, but they MEAN well...
Pick any area of science which doesn't have competing , even adversarial differences of opinion. You can't ,because 'science' rarely agrees on anything, once you look past the splashy headlines.
Nature makes the rules, and we just try to figure out what the hell those rules are. Often we do a fair job of getting most of it, but seldom do we fully grasp it all.

This study doesn't exist.

Science has been co-opted by the left and their cult followers. It breaks my heart because science has been the backbone of my education and career. fortunately, I am nearing the end of that career.

A fart can make it through two arse cheeks, underwear, and starched jeans to emit a smell that can linger for several minutes. The mere thought of a paper mask deterring this virus that has a 99.8% recovery rate shows how stupid the American people have become in a very short period of time.

It's settled science! If you deny it, then you're a conspiracy theorist.
Seriously, I can't stand when ideologues in the science community proclaim something as "settled". It makes me think of the scientists of a long time ago, who attached "settled science" to the notion of the sun revolving around the earth, or the earth being flat. Motherfrickers halted scientific progress for years, because they bullied others into believing that the earth was flat and there was no need to look further into it, because it was settled science.

There's no question about that. But remember that you're not breathing out pure virus. You're breathing out particulate which contains the virus, and that absolutely can be trapped by a mask.
In all, it's theater, but there is some logic there. As you say, too many people wore them without covering their nose or under their chin or whatever so it kind of didn't matter.

You will find studies saying all kinds of things about masks, but the misinformation in your post is staggering.
The masks are not meant to protect the wearer. They are meant to reduce the amount of moisture particles you exhale onto other people. (The virus travels by attaching to moisture particles). They are not 100% effective, but there is no question they trap moisture from your breath.
The masks might also provide protection for the wearer, but that is much more difficult to quantify.
Yeah, people suck, but their inability to wear masks properly does not mean masks aren't helpful. Still, most computer models involving mask use assumed a high percentage of proper mask use.
What makes you think an aromatic compound is larger than a virus particles? Your "common sense" is just dead wrong. A Virus particle is much more complex. We are comparing micro-organisms with molecules, and assuming the molecules are larger???
Plus, as stated above, the virus particles travel on water droplets, making them even larger.
Masks have been overhyped and politicized, and there is all sorts of information about them. But there is little question they can reduce the amount of stuff we breathe onto other people.

Bruh, its science. Wearing a mask is the exact same as wearing jeans when someone pisses on you. We’ve already been given this explanation, please try to be more science or I’ll have report your post to facebook.

That's why it's been emphasized over and over, a standard surgical mask is not self-protective. It protects others from you.

Think of the virus as a handfull of flower, and the mask as a screen door.
Bad example because breathing through that screen would be healthier than through the mask

"Follow the science" is used to control those controlled by emotion.
If we followed the science Ivermectin, the Trump drugs, and a whole host of other treatments would have been rapidly deployed.
If we followed the science we would read the facemask box which says it isn't helpful for virus transmission prevention.

As you are in the medical world then you could surely say as science is basically never settled the left never really is using it as truth to start with . They use aspects of it to push their desired outcomes . Covid , climate, male / female, race , age , are just ways to push control .

the spread was shown to slow in populations that regularly wore masks pre-vaccine. however, the virus is only dangerous for people who are old, fat, smoke, have cancer, diabetes, etc. the mask doesn't protect the wearer, and so if you are healthy, why would you ever wear one? The thing about the old and sick is that they are just a loss on society. Think of how much money we will save on healthcare in the coming decades from this gentle pruning of that population. Also, even the studies that support mask wearing are contingent on a lot of people wearing a mask. If you are the one guy wearing a mask in a gas station, you aren't helping anybody, you just look like a jackass dweeb

I figure it helps for people who are coughing or sneezing.
I have terrible allergies, and I've noticed the masks do help when I sneeze. If I happen to have a mask and feel a sneeze coming on, I will put it on. I also walk away from people if I can. I typically sneeze about 20 times when I start sneezing. After I stop sneezing, the mask is pretty gross.

It’s as much science based as a TV evangelist reading scripture or praying right before the money grab.
Assuming it matters, future government has a really thought job on their hands building back the confidence of the people based on this hack job of propaganda.
