When you can't compete on ideas you must silence your opponent.

I stopped using their products in the last few months. If their competition does the same thing, I haven't heard about it.

Using other search engines, other map sites, etc hasn't cost me anything.

It's not about what it does to you, individually.
It's about how they affect public opinion as a whole.

On monopoly. They can crush a business presence online.

The fact is publications are disappearing and that is due to the internet.

Why doesn't their bias fall under existing anti discrimination laws? Bake that cake or sue them?
They should understand that.

A search engine *with the market share the size of Google* should not have an inherent bias on ideas. It would be reasonable to assume that a search should give the most relevant results, not the ones they simply want you to see (aside from obviously marked SPONSORED/ADS). Anything otherwise can be deceptive and manipulative.

So "We don't serve naggers here boy...get out" is good with you as long as it's a private company?
Bigot.

Chicken should ban you. I only want to see thoughts and opinions that echo my own. Will you agree to this?

Google is way more than just a search engine.

However they control way more than enough of the market to qualify as a monopoly. Companies have been broken up over less.

Are they really Private or Quasi-Private since their biggest source of Revenue comes from Governments (primarily the US Gov't). However, China has taken over key decision making functions at Google through their secret contract with Dragonfly.

Dragonfly is China/Google's new Search Engine which is designed to censor broad categories of information about human rights, democracy, peaceful protests, opposition, etc.

The Pentagon was also working with Google on implementing the same search engine AI modifications until Google pulled out of the $10 billion dollar contract in October once it was leaked to the press and public outraged forced them kill it.

A recent report claims that Google employees internally discussed burying search results for conservative media outlets like Breitbart News and The Daily Caller. One Google engineer made his intentions clear by commenting, “let’s make sure that we reverse things in four years.”

The Intercept from this morning: Google Shut Out Privacy and Security Teams from Secret China Project called Dragonfly

In February 2017, during one of the first group meetings about Dragonfly at Google’s Mountain View headquarters in California, some of those present were left stunned by what they heard. Senior executives disclosed that the search system’s infrastructure would be reliant upon a Chinese partner company with data centers likely in Beijing or Shanghai.

Locating core parts of the search system on the Chinese mainland meant that people’s search records would be easily accessible to China’s authoritarian government, which has broad surveillance powers that it routinely deploys to target activists, journalists, and political opponents.

INSIDE GOOGLE, a deep ideological divide has developed over Dragonfly. On one side are those who view themselves as aligned with Google’s founding values, advocating internet freedom, openness, and democracy. On the other side are those who believe that the company should prioritize growth of the business and expansion into new markets, even if doing so means making compromises on issues like internet censorship and surveillance.

You don't seem to have much of a concept of how search engines work or make money

I agree with this and I think the Sky
screamers going to court to demand access to politicians social media and the fact that google owns youtube is going to leave the opening to push back on them
