So lets see, at the ripe old age of 27:
1. no formal education (college);
2. Never been in the military;
3. And he is a double naught spy for the CIA, FBI and CIA?
I'm convinced now, he is not the self absorbed bleeding little va jj I thought he was. Real hero.

He said he raised concerns, the gov't so no he didn't, no emails.
Then they found an email.
he says there are others.
He has those emails and he is trolling for the gov't to lie YET AGAIN. And then he will dump them.
This is master level trolling IMHO.

And, the funny part is, at this point, he can pretty much do that on everything, even stuff he CAN'T prove because it's obvious they don't have any fricking idea if he can or not.
People make fun of this "27 year old dropout" despite the obvious fact that he has our entire Intel world's pants around their ankles and they can't do shite about it.

I think of it as a troll but I spend a lot of time on the internet.

I have a friend that works for a white hat hacking firm. Most of the employees didn't go to college, although they did make it through high school or equivalent. lots of them have their GED.
They may probably more than most people on this board, upwards of $300k per. Its big business.

Being a traitor to your country is not subject to what party is in power, either you are or you aren't, Snowden is.

Eye of the beholder. One traitor is another mans hero.

Eh, taking a relatively unknown target out in the middle of Moscow would be considered a high risk move. Lots of potential for political fallout on that and the heads of our intelligence agencies are all thoroughly political animals.
Taking a target out with the type of international notoriety that Snowden has now would be positively toxic at this point. Everyone would point to it as definitive proof of the over reach of our spy agencies and Congress would be ruining budgets left and right for years.
The kind of elaborate chicanery where an assassination is blamed on a third party is at this point purely in the realm of fiction for this case, especially since Moscow would be in charge of the investigation.

Snowden spent over a month in Hong Kong. He had been corresponding about secret info for 5 months before that and if we are to believe the depth of the NSA ring, he could/should have been a person of interest before he left for HK.

HK was a great choice for him to run to for a variety of reasons.

This is the flaw in the NSA collections system. All of that data collected is generally only useful in hindsight, as the most efficient manner of sorting it requires you to know who you are looking for in the first place.

Refer to my previous statement.

Very possibly true. I still stand by the belief that our clandestine operations are far more powerful than non-conspiracy folk give them credit for. I'm not talking Area 51 stuff, I'm just talking highly skilled/trained professional intelligence agents that can easily kill, and can easily perform high risk jobs.

This is literally happening and it is damn hilarious.

they are probably very good. But there is also, everyone would know the US gov't killed snowden if he died thing going on.
Might keep him alive for a few more years.

If Putin really wanted to frick with the US intelligence agencies he'd order Snowden killed himself.
That is potentially the final card Putin might play, depending on how much Snowden's accusations curtail US intelligence gathering and how far or if Putin wants it to go further.
That potential has to make Snowden sweat at least some and is my only real objection to where he ended up.

quote:All I can say is, a lot of people make a lot of money producing propaganda to keep attention diverted and the masses divided.
What if the CIA is in some way complicit with his leaking of things to Glenn Greenwald and his flight to Hong Kong and then Moscow? It makes more sense than a CIA spy going rogue and living to tell the tale.
Check.....and check.
I tip my hat to the script writers. They added the element of hero. The masses are more likely to continue to play the game if they think they have a say so in the outcome.

The CIA could have gotten to him by now if they really wanted to.
