If I'm his lawyer I tell him to shut up and not say another word.
The next time he speaks will be in court.
There is nothing he can say at this point which does not further damage him.
The police have a lot of evidence to refute his lies, and the truth just assures he goes to jail.

Michael David Smith
?
@MichaelDavSmith
If this is true, it's horrific. The implication is that Jussie Smollett thought the police had two innocent men in custody and he said he would testify against them. Only when he realized the cops got the right guys-the guys he orchestrated the hoax with-did he refuse to comply.

Can you imagine if two random white dudes were in the area when this happened?

What are the chances he offs himself?
He sees the walls closing in. He is weak minded, emotional, and short sighted.
Should we add Jussie to the 2019 celeb death pool?

Why isn't he charged with filing a false police report and more?!?!
Whether they ultimately are willing to go this route or not, I'm guessing the police want to get as much evidence as possible before making that call.
If them taking their time leads to real consequences, I'm all in favor of it.

@washingtonpost
Opinion: I doubted Jussie Smollett. It breaks my heart that I might be right. LINK
@AlyssaRosenberg
So glad to have been able to publish this piece from Nana Efua Mumford on the Jussie Smollett case, and what it feels like to wish a very bad thing might be true because the lie would be so much worse: LINK …
Mow that's how you spin.

would have happened if he played it right, but the GMA interview, the statement claiming sources are lying (police sources) and this statement where he says reports are inaccurate have pretty much sealed his fate
they're going to pin his arse to the wall. they gave him an out, but he just was so determined to be a star victim.
Yep. His only crime in the eyes of some seems to be that he took it too far.

They need to put a warrant out for his arrest right now.

He has a good chance to beat the rap. Enough money to hire good lawyers. Jury pool in Chicago is black people who don't trust the CPD and white SJW types who want to virtue signal by ignoring facts.
