The people took back control of their city. Seems like a good thing. Republican or Democrat, hubris in politicians is out of control.

something about having a recall election a month before a national election tells me this wasn’t about voter turnout.

Add in Demopolis, Albertville, Florence, and soon to be Fairhope AL. Plenty of Alabama towns all over the state that need to follow this lead.

The Democrats are in the tank for the Chinese communists. There is no doubt about that.

Ask Frisco, TX about letting a battery plant build and operate in your city.
The constituents didn’t want it and the elected officials passed it anyway. Then they got the boot. That’s how America is supposed to work.

It was a recall election with 1200 voters.

700 angry people got their way.
not exactly a mandate.

I’m sure the red hat wearing retards cry about Joe Biden killing manufacturing jobs.

1200 voters in a town with a 3200 population is a pretty decent turnout.

Don’t know where you got the number that only 700 people voted against it but, even if so, that’s the way our election system works.

Being that I live in a town that used to have a battery factory and have seen the significant environmental hazard it turned out to be along with how long and expensive the cleanup process was, I would have absolutely been one of those “700” angry voters.

I dint care if this town has jobs or not.

If I cared about whether the rust belt had factory jobs i’d vote for trump.

But this is being touted as some huge grassroots victory of politicians and it’s 750 angry people who took advantage of the fact that recall elections generally have low voter turnout.

So was it 700 angry people or 750? Either way, 1/3 of the total population (not registered voters) voted. That’s not a number that can be dismissed.

And no one is claiming it’s a victory of politicians. Quite the opposite, actually. You… don’t have great comprehension skills.
