SIAP- Louisiana Bar Owners Lose Court Appeal Challenging Governor’s Emergency Powers

Bossier Now- Bar Owners Lose Appeal

“The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit turned back an appeal from 21 bar owners who challenged an executive order Edwards issued in July that closed barrooms for on-premise service but allowed restaurants to remain open.

The bar owners argued the differential treatment violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.”

I’m starting to notice a trend. We are either unequal under the 14th to the likes of Amazon and Home Depot, or we lack standing to challenge, at least so says the Supreme Court. The State and Honor Code are killing businesses and bankrupting families. This is ridiculous.

He can say like the New Jersey governor, he doesn’t know what gives him the authority to circumvent the Constitution because that is above his pay grade.

Where is the State Legislature to overturn the lunacy of Honor Code?

Where do you think? The House leadership is in agreement with Honor Code. Remember the Speaker of the House and his buddies made a deal with democrats to share power instead of working with the other House republicans.

Governors can use and abuse this power.

Mayors do not have this power, only if he declares a state of emergency can these Mayors enforce the shite.

Instead of suing the Governor, sue the Mayors.

Seeing how politicians can break laws, and courts ignore laws, it appears as though our constitution is merely a suggestion for when it’s convenient.

The 2 bars near my house are open. They got some 2x4’s and some plastic sheeting and built an enclosed addition to the side of their bars.

Technically it’s outdoor seating so everyone needs to find ways to circumvent the rules

Some where, some time, the people are going to figure out they out number the government by like a 1000 to 1.
