The Dems are royally screwed in this deal. They took a hard line betting that the Rs would fold on Friday in order to avoid a shutdown. The Rs have no incentive to deal now and this is squarely on the Ds. I don't think that I have ever seen a political calculation backfire on this scale.

Trump will rub it in their face that they shut down the government for illegal cockroaches and poor American kids don’t have healthcare, the military isn’t getting paid and our national parks are closed. While government is being held hostage for non us citizens here illegally, hard working American citizens are suffering. Communist have taken the side of another country’s citizens over America.
Let it last for months. Keep the pressure on. Bring tv crews to hospital rooms of chip kids scared the democrats took their healthcare away and the parents think they will see their kids die because of democrats.
Show military families being evicted because they didn’t get paid, because of democrats.
Keep the pressure on. Trump needs to bring mothers and wives of slain Americans that were victims of democrat supported illegals. Keep up the pressure until the democrats beg us to build the wall and deport the cockroaches.

That’s a lot of pain and suffering you are taking about inflicting in order to just score some political points.
Especially as it’s unlikely you’ll have a complicit media to browbeat the point.

How do democrats have the leverage? Trump can send ICE to deport the dreamers . Trump got less then a 1/3 of the spanish votes in 2016. If democrats don’t get the DACA deal then less Spanish voters could turn out for them in 2018 and 2020.

This is why I said that Trump should've simply terminated DACA immediately with no delay at all.
