I’d like to see opinions here... I’m not a huge gun guy even though I own a dozen, but I’ve had multiple suicides in my family who were on antidepressants and were able to buy guns.

But should you be able to purchase guns if you are taking mind altering medications? This could be add/adhd medications too.

Keep in mind the common theme for almost every mass murder has a linkage to these types of medications

No liberals would be able to own guns then. May be good for the conservatives when the CVW2 starts.

Stop asking question. We should just trust the government to tell us who should and should own guns.

Yet millions of others take them everyday and don't end up shooting up public places.

Should you have guns if you drink alcohol?

Or smoke the dope?

Or have a stressful job?

I want my medical records kept private.

Seems to me, an invasion of privacy would be in order to enforce any kind of prohibition on gun ownership under this guise.

Absolutely. There is a difference between psychotic and depressed.

I wonder if they will list mass murder as a possible side effect.

“May cause headache, nausea, vomiting, anal leakage, and mass murder “

Yes.
Should you be able to purchase guns if you drink alcohol? If you say "yes" to alcohol but "no" to antidepressants or anxiolytics, what's the difference?

You should have guns, if you want to, because your 2nd Amendment rights says you can.

When the liberals are willing to give up their right to vote I will be willing to talk about giving up my 2nd Amendment rights. Their rights are no more special or precious than mine.

Not that I would give up my 2nd Amendment rights, I just said I would talk about it and then my answer would be hell no.

Yes.

Really, most of these threats should be handled by family and friends. If your kid is fricked up, restrict their access to their existing guns.

We’re so disconnected and so afraid of offending people we don’t know when people are struggling and don’t confront them when we do know.

I would want to know stats on it before I made an assessment.

Sure. It seems intuitive to say "no". But, a lot of times stats and intuition don't line up.

The common linkage to heart attacks is blood pressure medications. Does that mean blood pressure meds cause heart attacks, or is it that people at increased risk for heart attacks are put on blood pressure meds?

These medications aren’t the root cause. I have taken antidepressants/anti anxiety meds and own a small arsenal and never had any desire whatsoever to shoot up anything. I did have to get a long form filled out by my doctor for my concealed carry license though.

What is the obsession with banning everything that could be related? You might as well ban people who play violent video games. That’s as big if not more of a factor than antidepressants.

Thinking about it more, a far more common theme is being a loaner/nerd.

I would also guess that more than a few of the shooters weren’t all that compliant with their med dosing.
