Several homes in Los Angeles’ Bel-Air neighborhood were burning Wednesday morning as a wind-driven wildfire prompted a full closure of the 405 Freeway as well as mandatory evacuations in an area of multimillion-dollar homes. The fire was estimated to cover about 50 acres by 6:20 a.m., but Los Angeles fire officials said it was being fueled by 25 mph winds and would likely grow. Television news video showed multiple homes in flames. The Los Angeles Police Department has ordered the evacuation of homes along Casiano Road, Moraga Drive and Linda Flora Drive. Residents of Mandeville Canyon and Sullivan Canyon should be prepared for evacuation, the department said.

People shouldn't be allowed to build homes were natural disasters are prone to occur, right California libs?

If Uncle Phil’s house burns, does Will have to move back to west Philadelphia?

A co-worker is evacuated from her Ventura Home. I never realized the fires were so destructive until recently. I guess every place has their disasters to be concerned over.

Good luck to all those threatened by this fire, and all those responding to it.

Supposedly it could claim the Getty center if the winds don't die down.

Santa Ana winds are off the charts. They have zero containment at Creek fire. LA is gonna burn for 2 days at least.

It’s 420 degrees here in south central LA, probably a good time to get out of the fricking city.

There are gusts of lead coming up Sunset.

All these fires they are having out there - are these forests being managed as "let mother nature take care of her own business" or are the forests being managed by man in order to cut down on the number of fires, controlled burns and that kind of thing?

i.e., are environmentalists partly responsible for wanting to leave "well enough alone" as is? I just know they raise a lot of hell when anyone discusses removing trees and undergrowth for any reason. At least that is the image projected by them when they get their 15 minutes of shame in the national media.

I visited the Getty a couple of years ago. Awesome place.

I'd like to go back in the context of "secrets in plain view" or whatever it is.
