This is the scariest situation I can remember! I don't think anything in history can compare with it ...save what happened when Hitler took power in Germany.

Both sides think the other is Hitler. One side censors and doesn’t allow opposing thought. One side just wants to be heard fairly. One side praises riots and looting based on emotion. One supports protesting because they feel politically slighted. One side is ruled by emotion, the other by logic and reason. I’ll let you decide who is Hitler and who isn’t.

No, no one demanded football players be fired or else. We simply stopped watching. There is a stark difference between actively seeking one's firing/replacement vs. simply no longer patronizing businesses due to their actions. If you're not smart, then you probably won't understand that.

The left does not so much 'defend censorship' as they 'attack free speech.' Censorship is a bad word so they avoid it.
One of their more interesting attacks on free speech I heard last week:

Because to the left, it's all about total power. They don't care if they are hypocritical. They will try and "well actually" and justify left wing censorship. Does that include the Italian Americans who were enslaved....the Irish Americans as well? Slavery should be looked at not through a modern lens, but through the lens of the time it happened. There were more slaves in Africa than at any time during the American years of slavery. Study a little history please.
