I don’t know if this is true but there is quite a difference between Ron and JD.

Republican Party need Ron so you can’t cast him off just yet.

I’ve been favorably impressed with Vance in the VP role, but his ‘28 prospects v. DeSantis will hinge on how successful the next four years are.

Trump kicks arse like we all hope and Vance is a shoe-in.

If there’s no wall, no millions deported, no right-sized fedgov/permanent Washington, if Wokeism continues to run amok, it’ll be DeSantis’s nomination to lose.

He appears to lack the charisma needed to charm a national audience. He's young so could still develop, but he'll be going up against presumably JD Vance and Vivek who can both talk circles around him.

This is the correct answer.

It's a shame, too, because he may be the most effective executive the Republicans have.

We shall see I’m not ready to say he’ll be in the running for President because running against Trump this time was really dumb…..somebody gave him bad advice on that.

However, 3 yrs is a while and we’ve seen guys rise from buried ashes before….ee shall see but I suspect his Presidential chances are DOA

Ron realizes his strength is in being a governor. He's going to go on a tour to fix broken states. He'll be governor of GA next to fix Kemp and ratfrickers mess. Then he'll move to some other battleground state and start anew. He'll go to whichever one is the most crucial after his GA term ends.

Where does Ron fit in? Was that his only shot at the presidency or will he wait for 8 years of Vance to try again?

It would be awesome if he would take the Attorney General spot.

No he will not have a path forward, he might be a Senator, but he will not be president.

Running against Trump may have killed his chance as becoming president. But Trump will need to keep the MAGA team under control in 2028 so they run so many people that the rhino wins .

Ron is my top dog moving forward. Calling him Republican establishment is nothing more than bitterness from people who think no one should have run in the primary against Trump. With that being said, Vance has catapulted himself into the mix.

Vance has elevated himself on the national stage since his selection as VP and has taken to the role masterfully, so he is going to be in a position to rival DeSantis for the nomination.

Personally, I am ecstatic to have 2 options as capable and with as much fortitude and backbone as DeSantis and Vance. Either would be excellent choices. In past Republican elections, we have had to choose from a far shittier pool of candidates who were pushovers and shills.

But to the main point, yes, there is a clear path for DeSantis moving forward and we should all be very grateful we have the bullpen we have coming up, because it is going to require strong candidates who are not scared to do battle with the left in order to maintain the Trumpian policies following his exit.

Gabbard is a leftist. Inwant her nowhere near the white house. She and rfk both need to be on short leashes.

Wouldn't surprise me if rfk runs as a dem in 4 years against vance.

What’s ironic is that is not what actually happened. If you recall, there was a previous question where the moderator asked “a show of hands question” and Ron ripped the moderator apart as to why “show of hands questions” are stuoid. The entire debate panel agreed with RDs premise. Then the moderator asked another “show of hands question.”

The image is bad, but RD wasn’t crawfishing. He had already signed a pledge to support the R nominee.
