Dear Senator Cassidy,

Your decision and vote to allow the Impeachment proceedings of President Donald J Trump after he left the office is an absolute disgrace. You clearly no longer care about your constituents and have fully given yourself over to the DC political machine. If you have any shred of dignity left, you should immediately resign your seat as a Senator of the great state of Louisiana, and begin your post political career in Washington DC which is obviously more important to you than the people who put you there.

Sincerely,

Coachchappy

Already sent.

I sent him a polite message telling him how disappointed I was that he approved that this kangaroo court to move forward. Specifically I said, imagine approving of a court where the judge is serving on the jury and the judge has already telegraphed his vote on the guilt or innocence of the defendant before hearing a scintilla of the prosecution or defense? Yeah, I couldn't imagine approving that either.

But you just did that. You approved this sham trial to move forward.

I will always remember this. I will always remember you value sham trials over due process rights. Just terrible. Pathetic.

Why? Because he just took an oath and is actually honoring it?

You are correct. Just by voting he is honoring the constitution. That is his sworn role.

Now that, that is out of the way Cassidy's job is to vote according to the way the people of Louisiana want him to vote. He is not doing that.

And because he is not voting according the way the people of Louisiana want the people of Louisiana are telling him he is not voting the way the people of Louisiana want.

It's called reprehensive democracy. You ought to look it up.

I don’t think contacting him will make a difference. He just won re-election. You need to let all of the GOP organizations in Louisiana know that your not happy and that he needs to resign or they will loose every national seat in the state till he does . You have to make his backers pick him or the rest of the GOP.

Just because so many of you in Louisiana are idiots with a blind spot to Trumps lies, doesn't mean he has to cast his vote to please you. Legislation is one thing, an impeachment vote is different.

Holy shite you are a literal moron! How about you look that up and see if it even exists. Sounds more like an excellent description of the entire MAGA base

Is the Chief Justice presiding over the trial AS REQUIRED
by the Constitution?

Don't be such an arse. Your try isn't "too hard" it just sucks.

I spent about 20 minutes typing mine out yesterday and in the letter I told him i expected no less than a boilerplate email response since he’s a fake and smug dc politician who feels he’s above the constituents who just voted for him only 3 months ago....

And also because he has a history of using boilerplate emails

First time I’ve felt obligated to message a politician.

I have no problem with the fact that he voted. It is what he is supposed to do. I do have a problem with the level of his ignorance in that he believes the Senate has jurisdiction over a criminal proceeding of a civilian. That is what Attorney Generals and District Attorneys are for. Senate Jurisdiction is limited to Presidents in offce, and it isn't really that confusing. This is partisan, and Cassidy is either incredibly ignorant, or he is pandering to the partisans who now control the Senate. He is a driveling douchebag to boot, and I have never understood how he got elected in the first place. But alas, he can certainly vote how he wants to. But if you don't think this is purely political, you are braindead.

IamPatman, how about you go take a quick look at his Facebook page and tell me if he voted the way his constituents wanted.

I don't do the Facebook and it doesn't matter anyway. I know he voted that the trial was constitutional and could proceed...because that is fact. He does not have to vote the way the majority of his constituents want him to, there is no stipulation or Senate bylaws that say that is a requirement of his office. In representative democracies, decisions are likely to differ from the preferences of constituents, because they are quite often based on more information than most constituents bother to process. In this case, that is simply the acceptance of the truth, which most of his constituents do not appear to be capable of.
