Yeah if I got it I would donate to the local pantry or my church's food program. I hope it goes to those in the most need, not people like me.

This, and if it is taxable income and not AGI.

Well a Katrina FEMA trailer cost the govt $150,000 each after all said and done. Cash for clunkers? A bust. Shovel ready jobs? Wasted stimulus. Wouldve been better to give cash to Americans and they can stimulate economy. However I have lots of reservations with this plan.

Wow

Came in just under the 150K threshold for a couple. $148.5K in 2018

I also had a kid Dec 20 2018.

Interested to see if this passes the House. Looks like it gives low income some help too.

The draft legislation, obtained by Fox News, would provide minimum payments of $600, and aid would be phased down at adjusted gross income thresholds of $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 per couple. Additionally, there would be $500 payments for each child.

This bill is terrible. It should realistically go to ALL americans, this means testing bullshite just wastes more time and adds bureaucracy and delays and delays.

Someone making over 100k might own a restaurant and be completely fricked while the employee making 74k has a stable job.

That doesn't even include cost of living, etc.

I’d take it, but fortunately we’re not in a dire position to “need” the payment. I know a whole bunch of folks that really need and I’m glad they’re going to get the assistance. I just hope like hell this doesn’t turn in the Katrina hand outs that folks used to buy luxury items instead of taking care of obligations.....but I’m sure that’s exactly how this will play out.

Great...went from 145k in 2018 to 85k in 2019 since I took an office job. Not married no kids. Get nothing but laid off in a month.

You should likely be getting $3,900 if I am understanding correctly.

If you was still under 150K.

Sorry about your pending lay-off. Maybe it won't happen? If it does I think they passed the bill that you would get MAX unemployment checks. (Probably near what you are making)

Don't know how a tax form from 2 years ago is appropriate to use to reflect economic situations now to determine need.

It’s certainly less than perfect, but 2019 numbers can’t be used because taxes aren’t even due yet.

So if I’m reading right. The checks will be based off your 2018 filing, not 2019?

I haven’t filed my 2019 yet.

Guess I'll only get two children credit , 7 month old not credited. That's okay though, itll all go in the market

I work in directional drilling. Unless oil prices rebound next month I imagine our company with have major layoffs. I only been with them 15 months so hopefully I made an impression
