Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to "heal" the court in the near future.

The ominous and unusual warning was delivered as part of a brief filed Monday in a case related to a New York City gun law. Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., referenced rulings by the court's conservative majority in claiming it is suffering from some sort of affliction which must be remedied.

I think I've discovered what the problem is.

A vague threat at best. I’d would be interesting to see if they can articulate their concerns more specifically.

I’m guessing not, because even they know it’s BS.

It just means they don’t like current SCOTUS decisions and we are going to throw a temper tantrum to motivate donations from our dumbass supporters.

...discovered...the problem...

I can remember a time when people with intelligence, charisma, and a record of achievement were the electoral candidates that voters wanted to “send to Washington” as their representative. There was always a certain smaller percentage of dumbasses, alkies, cheats and liars that were voted into office as well. However, now it seems the electorate doesn’t care. There are an awful lot of very smart people in CT and yet they elect that guy. (Hawaii, I can almost understand.)

Jesus what a bunch of reactionary freaks the Dems are. Wait until Ginsberg croaks on the same night TRUMP is re-elected - will be the biggest melt in yuman history.

So the dems who piss and moan about Russians interfering with our election have no problem whatsoever interfering with the highest court in the land.

Got it.

It's odd to me that Blumenthal would jump on this.

He should consider how it would have gone for him if he didn't have his weapon to defend him in Vietnam.

It really makes you think.

Roberts has already been compromised. Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh are not going to respond to blackmail like this. Kavanaugh may be weak in a few areas but he is legit on the Second Amendment. So the only "influencer" left is a new justice who would replace an old one.
