He's right the benefit is daylight in the afternoon to early evening, certainly less crime, less energy used, better for commuters especially in the winter months and more vitamin D for mental clarity.

I don't get the benefit of having more daylight in the AM.

The oldsters don’t care if it’s dark at 5:00 because they have already had their early bird special and are getting ready for bed.

The switch in the spring actually triggers heart attacks and accidents. Pick a time and keep it.

Good. I do not want permanent DST.

I would rather have the time changes or permanent Standard Time than permanent DST.

Agree to this... but having grown up in AZ, I would like to see permanent standard time.

What are your thoughts on “absurdly late” winter sunrises?

Same benefits you listed but during a different time of the day.

ere's a fun fact to know and tell! the amount of daylight you get is determined by your longitude the farther north you live the less sunlight you get. time zones are set based on latitude and were created in 1876 arbitrarily to accommodate railroad schedules. actual time is determined by your position relative to the sun in the sky based on your longitude. there are towns in these united states where you can walk across the street and change time zones.

You may want to look up longitude vs latitude

Can Trump just EO it? I'd love to see a Dem try to re-instate it out of spite after it's had a moment to thrive. People would be so pissed off.

Please, dear leader. Please executive order having to change my clocks ever again.
