Always one phag holdout.
If not him, they would have sent someone else out to take the heat.

Despite overwhelming public support for eliminating clock shifts, Sen. Cotton has reportedly stepped in as the main bottleneck in the Upper Chamber.

Cotton argued during Senate floor debate that establishing permanent Daylight Saving Time would result in "absurdly late" winter sunrises

This is not a new fight. The Gateway Pundit reported in March 2022 that the Senate passed a version of the Sunshine Protection Act by unanimous consent. That bill died in the House.
Cotton later said he would have objected if he had been on the floor.
Always one phag holdout.

Good. Permanent DST is retarded.
We literally did it already and everyone hated it so bad it lasted one calendar year.
But I guess that level of common sense is not welcome in a world where the internet has decided that it’s trendy for everyone to act like changing clocks (which basically no one has to do anyway because the devices handle it automatically) is suddenly the biggest deal ever.

Agree to this...
but having grown up in AZ, I would like to see permanent standard time.

Standard Time aligns with the sun and planetary motion.
Daylight Saving Time is artificial and works against your internal clock.
Every time this "single clock" idea is tried it fails because Congress chooses DST which is unnatural. They keep trying to force a square peg into a round hole.
I remember when they tried to enact DST year-round in the 1970s and it didn't even last a full year. Daylight Saving Time is the wrong one.
For once, we should try implementing Standard Time year-round.

Crazy how the rest of the world hasn’t experienced those absurd late winter mornings

Most don't understand the consequences of ditching the current system.

thank you tom cotton, who i'll be voting for since i live in arkansas.
it's 7am in little rock and it's still pitch black. permanent day light savings time makes since in the midwest but it does not make since in the south we already get more day light..
here's a fun fact to know and tell! the amount of daylight you get is determined by your longitude the farther north you live the less sunlight you get. time zones are set based on latitude and were created in 1876 arbitrarily to accommodate railroad schedules. actual time is determined by your position relative to the sun in the sky based on your longitude. there are towns in these united states where you can walk across the street and change time zones.
so once again thank you tom cotton.

I would assume they are referring to Health reasons based on studies.

Sounds like mumbo jumbo to me but I am fine with either. Just pick one and stick with it.

The problem is that while a majority of people want to switch to static time that majority is split about 50/50 on whether to go with ST or DST. So no matter which choice you make of the three, less than a majority want that option.
My wife and I both prefer going to DST, but people vary significantly based on their work hours, jobs, and longitude.

Just fall back 30 mins and be done with it. Time of day is arbitrary anyway.

Standard Time is fine with me, and stay the frick off of my lawn…

that's because only about 1/3 of the place we call earth practices daylight savings time. what the rest of the world recognizes is that their longitude determines the amount of daylight they receive, as that is an immutable fact of nature.
for instance in january in tromso, norway the sun does not rise and in july it does not set.

He’s finally doing something good. If we go to
One time it should be standard time.

Tell me you’ve never been to Europe in the winter without saying it

Regardless of the situation a persons body clock can adjust, people do it all the time in shift work. Not having it thrown into the mix twice a year would make life easier as farmers and the 10 kids working the fields by hand are not as dependent on it
