Sen. Cory Booker is proposing a plan—the American Opportunity Accounts Act—that he calculates will provide $46,215 to every 18-year-old in the lowest income bracket by giving them annual subsidies in a federally managed saving account. Booker cited his plan in a Tweet he sent out this morning. “We must close the wealth gap that’s undermining equal opportunity in our country,” Booker said in his Tweet. “My baby bonds will help level the playing field by creating a savings account for every U.S. child—to invest in themselves through things like paying for higher education.”

What about the free fields of blooming gorgeous flowers and unicorns prancing around shitting skittles for all to eat?

Isn't almost every 18 year old in a lower income bracket by virtue of being 18 years old?

Federally managed savings account = another slush fund.

And that's one of the more appealing parts of this plan.

The idea of actually working for money and to get ahead seems like a foreign idea to these people.

Zoombie NPC’s will believe them though .

I can do better than that.

50K for every child plus a lifetime supply of street tacos and fair trade coffee.

Your move, Spartacus.

One up - "Everyone is entitled to a free college degree. It's proven that people with degrees earn more than those who don't. Where is it written that this is fair? It's not. We're going to give degrees out to those on the lowest rung of the ladder so that they can lift themselves up with those who had the means and assets to go to school. Being wealthy shouldn't entitle one to leave others behind."

Annual subsidies for poor adults? That will end well.

The number of ODs on payout day will be tremendous.
