Calls Climate Change A Hoax Because Earth And Mars Have 'Exactly' Same Temperature

Wow, what a stunningly stupid statement, just about on par Todd Aiken's comments on rape (although not as offensive). But these are the tards representing us up in Washington, ladies and gentlemen. Can we just tar and feather this idiot out of Washington and get someone in there who actually knows what he's talking about and doesn't have huge financial motives to spout off bullshite and complete lies (he owns a mining company BTW, so I wonder what his motives are).

And it's even more shameful that this outrageously stupid comment went unchallenged, which leads me to believe that everyone with authority in that room is as stupid and poorly educated as he is. All we have are political science majors in there, with the occasional businessman sprinkled in there. Where the hell are the engineers and the scientists in Congress? Surely anyone from that background would have called him out immediately on that. But since he uses such an enlightened word like "academia", apparently everyone lets it slide thinking he's right. They're taking this country to hell in a hand basket all because they base things on "who the better arguer is" instead of "what are the concrete indisputable facts". But no one gives a shite, since I'm sure if one of these idiots adds "academic" to any stupid phrase, like "a mouse is bigger than a hippopotamus", then they'll let any stupid comment slide.

And did a search, but couldn't find anything else.

Humans account for 3% of carbon emissions in any given year. 7 billion - 3%

Those damn volcanoes and plants with their SUVs

If the climate is changing, what the frick are we supposed to do about it? Trillions of years and we have detailed weather reports for how many? This debate is so silly on both sides

It's a non story and a fabricated "catastrophe" created as a new vessel for anti corporate views and to get rubes to fork over their money for nothing. BUY YOUR CARBON CREDITS! And we can now make products more expensive without adding any value. Recycling paper yay! Now things are more expensive, there are less trees and we can have processing plants spewing toxic shite everywhere.

You've all been had people. The environment is worth protecting but environmentalists 1. Don't know shite, 2. Will use any slimy tactic to promote their agenda (which isn't the environment), and 3. Are holding back the progress of humanity.

Since when is something a Kentucky State senator says news?

Oh, when you can paint all of your political opponents with a broad brush?

got it

The difference between this and pointing out something stupid a CBC member says, for example, is that EVERY SINGLE member of the CBC is a kook.

Hey troll, what about the ridiculous climate hysteria people who blame the current situation in Iraq on Climate Change?

A single volcanic eruption can emit more carbon into our atmosphere than a lifetime of humans living their lives.

So again, how are humans responsible for weather?

But that 3% adds up over time, and humans weren't putting out even close to that amount of carbon emissions 200 years ago. The fact that 1 species is putting out 3% of the carbon emissions is really just astounding when you think about it.

We still have a pretty good idea on what likely happened.

The thing is I know we're fricked. Even if America were to completely do a 180 tomorrow and put as much carbon emission prevention as possible, China and India wouldn't go for it, and these companies would move even more factories over there to dodge carbon emission taxes. So it would do nothing in the end.

We do need a contingency plan though in place and also find financial incentives to go more green rather than taxing the hell out of companies with large carbon emissions. Once isn't technologically and financially sustainable, that's when we'll start to see some change. In the meantime, corporate interests will keep this at bay, I just hope it's not until it's too late.

There are roughly 7,000,000,000 humans on earth

There are roughly:
240,000,000,000 livestock on earth
10,000,000,000,000 land mammals on earth
400,000,000,000 land birds on earth
10,000,000,000,000 land reptiles on earth
10,000,000,000,000 land amphibians on earth

All of whom which breath oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. This accounts for more co2 in the air than all the vehicles and industrial plants in the world combine. As humans we account for about .023% of the world's living land species (not including insects). So how is .023% of the world's living population of land mammals causing more CO2 than volcanoes and all other natural occuring processes?

And to the leftist geniuses how will 4% of the human population (America's population) be responsible for the world's co2 composition?

How selfish is it to put these constraints, that do nothing, on developing nations trying to have clean water and industrialize so they can enjoy a higher standard of living. And as you pointed out, we're just needlessly frickin our economy because china and India aren't going to play by the same rules...nor should they.

You have a point with her. She thinks that man landed on Mars, and she has NASA as a major part of her district and was part of the Science Committee.
