Yep. People just hate change. They should study history.

Because one of two things are true. The "proposal" is complete non-serious bullshite meant to feed a distracting populist fairy tail to the seal clappers... or... it's an insane idea that if enacted would ensure we have a default on our debt and subsequent crash of our government. Which one do you want?

The adults in the room realized this is the former option. Who did you vote for? Because this is a "tax the rich!" page right out of Bernie's handbook.

He melts with anything regarding Trump, just like Roger, SFP, and Kiwi.

Federal income tax on $150,000 is $27,000.

You'll still be paying state tax (unless you live in certain states), medicare, social security, property tax (even if you rent you are paying it), sales tax, registration for xyz, insurance for xyz. The bills never end.

Isn't this pretty much the case now? Maybe not $150k but only 50% of tax filers actually pay tax. They want to reduce the tax burden from 50% of filers, which is probably 30 or 40% of the population?

I would promote the opposite, make every person in the country pay some amount of tax. We can't let 80% of the population have a complete free ride. Their "need" for more and more and more would never end.

Everybody needs to have some skin in the game.

Agreed. I understand the whole needing to pay some taxes, but again, my issue is I pay so damn much while millions pay nothing, and still get money back like they did.

It pisses me off. If something like the OP occurred, I wouldn't lose sleep over paying for college and I now know I actually could retire before 75.

Stop foreign aid and drastically reduce the number of people on welfare. Require able bodied people to work to be able to get any assistance. There are way too many lazy people would would rather live on the scraps that the government provides than to get up and go to work everyday.

Around my farm (very rural part of Alabama) there are people who are 50-60 years old who HAVE NEVER HAD A JOB.

Here in Tuscaloosa there is a guy who stands in front of the old WD (now an Aldi) with a sign that says "will work for food". There is a sign 20 feet from him that Sonic is hiring. Why wont that retard go get the job? Because he wants someone to give him some money for nothing.

Welfare should be limited to a short period of time over a citizens lifetime. It should not be a way of life.

So do you want tariffs to work, or not?

If tariffs create american jobs, then imports go away, and we have no revenue. The only way we would have revenue is if we continue or expand imports. Which one do you want?

Tariffs will do both. Every company and business in the world is not relocating to the US and many will still sell to the US.

Trillions in company relocations to the US will occur creating millions of jobs in the US. Plus reciprocal trade tariffs (where US trade tariffs were basically NIL) will generate trillions in revenue which will have a positive impact on the need for current income tax rates in the US.

In summary, we get both. We get numerous companies and American jobs, and we get shiploads of tariff revenue, all thanks to President Trump's leadership on recipricol tariffs.

At that level? I'd go with 25% or more.

Does he collect welfare?

There are ways to get extensions when one is job searching but without a permanent physical disability you absolutely have a finite amount of time on welfare.
