No way, I love it. As long as those bringing in over a half mil pay their fair share.
Define "fair" please. Because if you took almost all of their money, you couldn't even balance the current budget.

It's been forever instilled into public thinking that abolishing the income tax and IRS is impossible.
When you have $35 Trillion in debt, a $1.9 trillion annual deficit, and Social security + medicare entitlements... you can't simply make the revenue required disappear. Make those things go away and the IRS can go away. But they aren't. And Trump is doing nothing to abolish those things.

Some of y'all have taken leave of reality.

The more taxes they’ve collected the more they over spend.
Indeed. It's painfully clear we have a spendng and debt problem. But there is no companion plan to address that.

We survived before when barely anyone was paying income taxes.
Indeed. And what percentage of GDP was government, and our debt beck then? Currently our annual deficit is ~7% of GDP. Our debt is 129% of GDP.

I agree, but the wealthy already pay more (way more) than their “fair share.” Everyone should have some skin in the game. I would much prefer a consumption tax or a flat tax, but that isn’t being proposed. Taking more tax payers out of the game is not the answer.
Terrible case of TDS. Who did you vote for?

Purity tests and posters that preach about them are so dumb. That goes for Trump fans, Ron fans, and even Roger.

Pulling out of NATO, collecting foreign debt and tariffs isn’t going to make the slightest dent in a $37 trillion debt accumulated over 250 years.
$30 trill of which was accrued since 2004. Trump 1.0 added over $6 Trillion of it all by himself. Luckily he's on pace to almost double it this go round!

While this would directly benefit me, I don’t think this is the right move. We need all the help we can get to pay down our current debts. Let’s talk about cutting taxes after we get in the black

Imagine having taxing authority in your name and not having the first clue about the origins of the federal income tax?

So do you want tariffs to work, or not?

If tariffs create american jobs, then imports go away, and we have no revenue. The only way we would have revenue is if we continue or expand imports. Which one do you want?

I would be okay with this if they cut the federal budget in half.

There are other ways. Consumption tax for example.

Looking at the numbers, if we cut the world off and worried about us this is doable.

Not only is it doable, but our costs can go down on our own goods.

No. I'm not. I'm not a tax accountant nor a tax attorney. And even if I was... I wouldn't be worried about this fairy tale. Some of y'all are gullible.
