He is stringing along a chain of mischaracterizations and is coming off as ignorant, willfully or otherwise.

Feinstein and Grassley sitting up there chuckling about the break seem like an old, senile married couple.

Brett: "Nah".

I will say, similarly to my opinion on Senator Feinstein, I do not think that Senator Coons is in the Corey Booker, Maester Pycelle (Leahy), Kamala Harris wing of the Party.

I think Coons is intelligent, knows what he's talking about and has genuine concerns that I just so happen to disagree with. For that I do respect his line of questioning to some extent.

However, he still has a punchable face and the way he talks makes me want to punch a puppy.

The sad thing is that seat would be Republican if the party hadn't shite the bed in the 2010 primaries and nominated a series of Senate candidates that make Roy Moore look like a moderate.

Im not sure a Republican would have won CT in 2016, even if he/she was an incumbent.

Read my later post right before yours though. I can at least respect Sen. Coons for being meritorious with his questions. He seemed to at least basically understand the Constitution beyond a 6th grade level.

That’s why I said his ignorance may or may not be willful. He definitely seemed more earnestly interested in getting to the bottom of things and less interested in grandstanding than others; my main issue is the way he presented those “facts” and didn’t seem to accept Kavanaugh’s reasonable explanations that really exposed some serious mischaracterizations.

Coons is from Delaware, and if Mike Castle hadn't lost the primary to that crazy woman, he would have beaten Coons by 8 to 10 points. He was very popular overall as a former Governor, and was heavily favored to win until his primary upset.

Blumenthal is always just trying to set what he thinks are trap questions that may yield some big news.

This "gotcha" is pathetic. He has met with these senators over and over and most let them know what they are going to ask.

And now he's being asked about personal conversations.

Blumethal is a snake. Really. I think he's reptilian. He's very concerned about if Kav has ever said the words "special" "counsel".

I'm starting to get the feeling that "I'm not remembering anything" as equivalent to "I plead the fifth".

I'M getting frustrated with how some of these senators are questioning him. It couldn't be more obvious they are fishing for a gotcha, and it's just absurd. Blumenthal is a great example of this right now as we are watching.
