It's not an impeachment hearing, that would imply that the House officially began impeachment proceedings. They are not. It is an impeachment "inquiry" which is cover for, let's have a dog-and-pony show, trot out any and all speculation about the issues we want to hang Trump on, and then see if we can make anything stick.

Yes they are. I am as pro Trump as any, but this is simply not true. How else did Ratcliffe destroy Taylor's story?

Got a link to them being allowed to question???

And to those bitching about people going into a secure area without clearance, no part of an impeachment process is supposed to be done in secure areas like that.

I am by no means Trump's biggest fan as I think he runs his mouth way too much(I have supported almost every policy though) but plain and simple this is a sham process being performed only to weaken the president for the coming election. Plain and simple.

it is not how it is supposed to be done and it is why the committee has zero subpoena power, well no enforcement power. Impeachment process means there is an official vote in the house on beginning the process.

House committees have never had enofrcement power of subpoenas. About all they can do is refer to the DOJ for failure to comply.

Impeachment hearings require that. Impeachment inquiries do not, which is why Schiff, Pelosi, and Dems have been calling it an inquiry. They're in the investigative phase. In the Nixon and Clinton impeachment process, there were special committees formed to handle that. There isn't one this time. Presumably, once the inquiry phase is wrapped up, they'll hold a vote to begin impeachment hearings, and those will be public.

I wonder what ppl would have said if the Dems pulled the same stunt during the Clinton Impeachment proceedings

The Republicans weren't holding hearsay impeachment hearings behind closed doors

The republicans impeached a sitting president because he lied about getting a BJ

I'd say the potential charges against Trump are far more serious than Clinton's and warrant legislative review.

Republicans should be excited about all this fuss.

Clinton experienced a 10 point bump in his approval rating AFTER he was impeached (73%). The dems are inadvertently exciting the Trump electorate rn

Ya, this will never happen.

It's pure political horseshite from top to bottom. You know it. I know it. Pelosi knows it.

Everyone seems to forget that the progressives literally wrote songs about Obama and had children sing them.

The Democrats worshipped Obama like it was a religion.
Speaking of which did anyone else ever hear the elem school class singing "Obama Beautiful Morning" (to the tune of the song from the musical Oklahoma) during the 2008 election?

It was only online for a few days, and that was before I knew how to dl vids. Ive been looking for it ever since

Ken Starr's committee did that. His entire investigation was done behind closed doors.

Which is why Pelosi won't bring the vote to the floor.

She may be a slimy politician, but she's not stupid.

We purposely broke with Great Britain to end Star Chamber type proceedings. Move this to the Poli board so you can receive a lesson on US History and Constitutional Law.

In July 2019 a whistleblower complaint was filed by a member of the intelligence committee, but the Director of National Intelligence refused to forward it to Congress as required by law, saying he had been directed not to do so by the White House and the Department of Justice LINK

If proven, someone in the White House violated federal law.
