No guns for crazies! Let's start there.

That’s the actual question. If we can solve that, then the rest of this discussion is moot

You're so much more sane than the rest of us. Your levels of sanity know no bounds! You have us spellbound with your sane and profound intellect. So Much. Sane! MOOT!

Doctors. The same people you go to to cut you open and repair your insides are the ones who get to decide where the threshold exists, in conjunction with the ones passing the laws.

Read your post and tell me you trust people, because you don’t. Yet you default to the best policy being - let everyone have a gun. That’s the craziest line of logic yet.

If you are deemed "crazy" should you be able to vote? Drive a car? Walk your child into school? Attend sporting events?

How far are you willing to go?

Are you honestly trying to engage in a legit discussion, or are you trying to setup some gotcha? Because it’s exhausting to try and discuss this when everyone just wants to flame.

Odd, I don't ask my mechanic to diagnose software issues.

I don't, but other people's rights are not contingent upon my trust.

Thread is a great troll. If only all law enforcement officers were liberal socialists the world would be a better place. Better yet, if law enforcement officers didn't need to carry weapons, say like, Uh...England, yeh, everyone would live in peace and harmony.

Remember when the Romans only had long spears and the guns weren't invented yet? Everybody was safe! Nobody conquered nobody. Or, was everybody crazy, mannn?

So you don’t think people should be able to just own guns as they like?

And you know well I am talking about medically trained professionals that are specifically trained to diagnose people’s mental health. Stop being a shill.

Answer or don't. It's not a big deal to me.

So your determination is that a clinically documented paranoid schizophrenic should have the same access to firearms you do? If so, perhaps I am "so much more sane than" you.

I think our current laws are fairly reasonable. Honestly I'd like to see some of the NFA prohibitions overturned, namely restrictions on silencers and SBR's.

Again odd, since you specifically referenced surgeons.

According to the NRA, we should want everyone to have weapons when we are in public

Almost certain this isn't an official, or even a suggested, NRA position.

Sorry for Mr. Guttenberg's loss but he's making statements that 100% of gun advocates would never make and he's hoping the slower-witted amongst us fail to see his flawed argument.

I don’t know why you’re laughing, that was a legit question. Should a medically diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic have the same access to guns as you?

Damn that Freedom! just can't trust people to be free.

Maybe more govt. or more laws, yeah that'll fix it finally, just like communism/socialism, THIS time it'll work!

How about someone on depression or anxiety medication?

I want to know where the line is. What's your line, no copping out and telling me that surgeons get to make this decision.

Do you plan to put an armed guard on ever street corner, and in every corner of every building? Sounds like fun, ignoring that it is impossible. Not to mention that in a different context would be considered totally unacceptable to the left in different lenses.

Your natural born right to have the means to protect yourself shouldn't stop when you walk out the door of your house, should it?
