You're like extra stupid or something.

Given a theoretical world in which such measures could and would be universally undertaken, and given an additional guarantee that no militia, police, government or criminal party would ever bear arms directed at citizens, there would be substance to the OP's anti-2ndA stance. Absent that, it's a vacuous posit.
It took four pages for the one legitimate argument against what I am saying to be brought up. If I don't trust anyone, how do I trust the actors within the government? The answer is that I absolutely don't, and there is the great question. The assumption has been made that the only way to keep the government at bay is by having our own virtual standoff that resembles the Cold War. But we are at a Cold War with our own government.
I value your response, NC. I'm still trying to figure out in my own head how to find that middle ground, and I haven't gotten there yet.
- Don't trust the government, how do you keep them honest.
- Don't trust people, how do you keep them from letting their crazy out with a gun in their hand.
There is an answer here, no matter how hard of an answer it is to come up with.
Good to see you, NC.

Please don't restrict it to this board. Spread your message far and wide. Conservatives love it when you guys are honest on this issue. There's a reason most of your cohorts lie about it
Oh, I want your gun if you don't keep it in your house. If you're carrying it around with you, I want that sonofabitch confiscated and you'll never see it again.

It’s funny that limp wristed pussies like the op think they are going to just take people’s guns.
I’m willing to bet she will want a gun to protect herself when she decides its time to take someone else’s gun.

But only when those firearms are in the "right" hands.

When you go back and discuss whether or not you want to repeal the 14th amendment, I’ll have a discussion with you. Otherwise, hush, little one.

The reason it's difficult is that some are looking to blame inanimate objects for the actions of evil and/or insane people.

No guns for crazies!
Let's start there.
Time after time we see examples of recognizable loons given access to guns: JohnLennon's murder, Attempted assassination of Reagan, Multiple school shootings Columbine-to-Newtown-to-Parkland, Gabby Giffords, etc., etc., etc.
Everyone from the NRA to anti-gun extremists recognize that problem. Yet the resident idiots in DC have made zero effort to approach it. As with African American poverty/dependency, or immigration, they'd rather perpetuate the issue than to solve it.

I don’t have to discuss anything with you, cum dumpster. You’re an intellectual lightweight who has no regard for the Constitution.

Make a tee shirt with that slogan on it. Don't just type on this message board. Make signs and put them on your prius. Make pins and put them on your fedora.
Please, please, please say everything you've said here in public and do it often.

That’s the actual question. If we can solve that, then the rest of this discussion is moot.

Who sets the standard for "crazy"?
If I'm taking medication for anxiety, or depression, do I have my firearms confiscated?
What about vets or police with PTSD?
Do we also start restricting the voting rights of the mentally unfit, and if so, I again ask who makes that determination?
