It's actually scary. A coup or major shake up in the kingdom would be 9 kinds of trouble for, perhaps, an extended period of time.

Yeman has been effed for several years now... the rest of the GCC has been fighting there for a long time.

Just a matter of time over there, AC. They are in the same position we are re both NOKO and the Fascist Movement within our Borders; either hit the enemy now...or let them grow stronger, and take a first strike later.

By whom? The Saudi Royal family has 30,000 members. Do you realize what a mess the KSA would be if that happened?

I'm a big fan of chaos. They are corrupt to the core and behind the Wahhabi indoctrination that leads to most of the terror being perpetrated in the west. Screw 'em.

This could be a pivotal point in time though relative to Iranians getting directly involved instead of merely supporting the Houthis by proxy

Its a power move by an authoritarian regime to rid itself of its perceived enemies. Religious and academic leaders have been rounded up for a while now. There is no transparency or public accountability at all. The legal process is one that Chairman Mao would have been proud of. Let's just hope the Crown Prince doesn't expect the US military to save his arse if the Iranians decide to ramp up this thing.

If my dad and several dozen people I was related to or did business with were just rounded up yesterday and thrown in jail I would probably avoid any modes of transportation that involved flying or driving for a few days.
