I am truly sad to hear this news. Like many on here, I corresponded with him via email for a while. He was a kind and funny guy, and a fellow Shreveporter.

I'll miss his strong convictions and his sense of humor. RIP Charles

I don't know how many people he shared his name and E-mail addy with but I was one. His one true passion was his faith. As he grew older he grew in it to the exclusion of what he had come to recognize as decisions and actions that he recognized as being sinful acts in fact. That drove him away from at least one denomination (Presbyterian) for its acceptance of what is called sin in the Bible and led him to another one. I very much believe that he is being accepted into very open arms at this moment.

I am so sorry to hear this. LAT was a great Tiger fan and gave non-LSU folks like me a lot of insight into the school. We emailed back and forth a few years ago and he was a very kind man.

R.I.P., Charles. I know you are up in Heaven cheering on the Tigers and doing your best to get this country straightened out.

Did I read correctly that he was survived by his partner?

That's actually really good to hear. I'm glad he found someone.

I had multiple arguments with him and told him he was crazy all the time.

RIP. Life is too short.

Really hate to hear that. What a loss; he added so much to the board and seemed like such a great guy.

Holy shite.

I was having a terrible day and now it just got worse.

Charles was a good friend of mine from my days at LSU. Charles was also pivotal in helping me finish my dissertation when attaining my PhD.

After leaving LSU, I kept in touch with Charles via this board, email, and phone (quite often).

Damnit. Just fricking dammit.

Charles was a very passionate person. Passionate about his church, passionate about his politics, passionate regarding his family, his partner and passionate about LSU.

RIP in buddy.

I'm going cry my eyes out now.

Even though I almost never agreed with him, the guy did add life to this board and was definitely one of the people who made the board what he became. When I think of the Poliboard, he's the second poster that comes to mind after Rex. Definitely enjoyed debating him over the years, and we had some epic verbal brawls. He'll be missed on this board simply for the debates he inspired, and I'm sure he will as well from his friends and family.

Rest in Peace
