Media's sitting on a LOT of info they don't want to release just yet. Just my impression from hours of reading.

@broadsword_six is your best source tonight imo - seems to be his area of expertise

Wild speculation at best! The dems have lost their damn minds. Any actual evidence?

Its hard to know what amounts for evidence to people around here?

For some reason Rod Wheeler's now discredited anonymous source was a smoking gun by Trumpkins in Seth Rich threads. Still seems to be.

But two anonymous sources for Reuters are "fake news." Its a pretty bizarre charge to think Reuters would just make this up? Do they just pay people to spend their day flipping through obscure ethics rules to find some "fake news" to make up?

Did they then co-ordinate with the WaPo to build on this by reporting Kushner is under intensified scrutiny? Something the administration and Kushner have addressed publicly by claiming full co-operation?

I'll grant that the story is likely mostly true. I would say the details are probably a bit sketchy tho because this is coming from the Russian ambassador and who knows if they fricked the translation. Jared could've just as easily asked him to set up secure communication back channel, and it was translated weird with how he may have worded it when he relayed to Kremlin.

However, even with the worst this allegation could be from what they're claiming.... where's the crime? I think this leak kind of would prove their point that they didn't want the IC tracking their calls

I wonder if this is what Bannon was hinting about not too long ago...

Just reading this may be from foreign intel - there was chatter that Trump really pissed off eu (specifically germans) and they were about to take the gloves off and push back a little bit. Just chatter take it fwiw. twitter nat sec/ former ic sources

Wouldn't shock me in the least, however they still don't have shite on anyone. Trump fired Flynn over basically bad headlines... he ain't cutting Jared unless they charge him with something, and they ain't got shite on him, yet.

My background is economics and finance, so I will not pretend to be a lawyer or law expert. So i do not know what, if any legal issues Kushner would be in if this gets ugly.

No sure what the legal ramifications would be even if true.

Backchannel

Why, because Kush and Trump both knew they were being monitored by their political enemies. Also, I remember Kennedy did the same thing during Cold War of course they killed him for it.

WP Spin away, you crazy Trumpkins.

Spin...what? It's for damn sure that any communications through normal WH Channels would be leaked before the phone line was dropped. Hell, the Brits cut off Intel sharing it's so bad. And that is exactly what Kushner ought to tell that bunch up there on that polluted Hill. The truth!

It's their job to see that Communications are secure; not that of the POTUS.

So much baloney flying back and forth I'm not sure we should even care. The misinformation is pretty thick these days, I'm not waiting around for this.

The conversation between Mr. Kushner and the ambassador, Sergey I. Kislyak, took place during a meeting at Trump Tower that Mr. Trump’s presidential transition team did not acknowledge at the time. Also present at the meeting was Michael T. Flynn, the retired general who would become Mr. Trump’s short-lived national security adviser, the three people said.

Anyone care to explain how these leakers not only know about the meeting but know what was said at the meeting? This was a face-to-face meeting at Trump Tower. There's only 3 explanations:

1) Flynn or someone high-up in Trump's team is talking

2) The Russians are making this story up for lolz

3) The CIA had Trump Tower bugged -- not just the phone lines, but had physical microphones in Trump Tower.

ETA: I didn't read the whole thing. There's this:

quote:

American intelligence agencies first learned about the discussion several months ago, according to a senior American official who had been briefed on intelligence reports. It is unclear whether they learned from intercepted Russian communications or other means.

This means it's not a mole in Trump's team, but was gathered by CIA/NSA. How would they do that? One of two ways:

1) Physical bugs in Trump Tower as well as agents following Trump's people around.

2) They heard the Russians talking amongst themselves about the meeting and what was said.

I am leaning toward option #2. I think this is a ploy by the Russians to frick with our IC. Remember, the Russians KNOW their shite is being intercepted, they aren't stupid. They know America is listening to their calls on insecure lines.
