In other words the active radar for say a certain missile system like the SA-17 is known. So if you pick up target acquisition radar with that signature one could with a level of certainty conclude that system was used.
I wasn't aware they actually taught flyboys anything useful. I just assumed we put you in planes and showed you what buttons to push like the monkeys we sent into space back in the day.

The Ukrainians from what I heard claimed it was a weapon they had and was captured by rebels when they took over one of their military bases.
Now that is from CNN and BBC, but who knows if it is true. There is still no concrete proof it was even shot down, although it may be a likely scenario.

Don't really blame Bush for that one either. I mean yea looking back maybe he should have excused himself, but at the time, not knowing any details, certainly not expecting a terrorist attack, etc. there was no reason for him to make rash decision or statement.
