The actual hearing took place on March 25th

How is making a statement like that remotely tied to April Fool's Day?

Even if it was an attempted joke, it not only sucked, but it shows the insufferable disrespect Hank has for the office and the issue at hand.

It wasn't a joke. He literally believed that's how islands work. He's that much of an imbecile.

Accept it.

Yeah it was in March. He didn't mean it is an April Fool's joke. Back then there were some people who thought it was an April Fool's joke because it went viral on April first apparently. But no he's just an idiot

Hank Johnson is also infamous for driving away from gas station in his BMW, while talking on a cell phone, without paying for the gas, without removing the gas nozzle from his car, ripping the gasoline hose out of the gas pump, spewing gasoline all over the parking lot and dragging the fuel hose through Atlanta. Fortunately, for Hank, another driver noticed that he was driving along city streets, dragging the gas hose, and still talking on his cell phone. The driver flagged Hank down. Otherwise Hank would have driven all the way to his next destination still dragging the fuel hose. Hank is the equivalent of a Looney Tunes cartoon character.

The “it was a joke” excuse was one of the first ones floated out there to cover for Johnson’s monumental stupidity, but this is the first I’ve heard of the April Fool’s Day angle. (Maybe because it wasn’t April 1st.). After the hearing, his staff trotted out a daily chain of lame excuses, and none of them stuck. They said he was sick and dehydrated. That he suffered from migraines. That he’d had a disruption in his meds regimen. They blamed it on fatigue. They said it was a metaphor that the rest of the country was too dense to pick up on.

The sad fact is, the dude is just that stupid.

Having said that, he’s still an improvement over Cynthia McKinney.

I'm really tired and read that as his next dimension. Would've made sense still.

If that were the case, I believe he’d be a regular guest on The Tonight Show, Kimmel, and SNL.
